Full description
A private, hand-crafted Welsh hideaway, packed with luxuries and remotely secluded on a farm.

If you could conjure up the perfect spot for a romantic treehouse, then trust us, it'd be the instantly soothing, sheep-strewn Squirrel's Nest.

You'll find Cadwollen's Treehouse (affectionately known as Caddie's by friendly owners John and Laura) beautifully secluded here, part of a lush 75-acre working family farm.

Surrounded by Maelinaidd, an incredible 900-acre hill and a Site of Special Scientific Interest that doubles as the perfect picnic spot, you'll feel miles away from the noise and the everyday stress of life back home.

Caddie's itself is the newest treehouse on the block, dreamily hand-crafted and packed with luxuries that represent the ultimate in romantic country breaks.

For starters, how about a relaxing hot tub out on the stargazing deck (glass of bubbles optional), or an invigorating outdoor shower after a long day exploring the local area?

Choose your ideal snoozing spot from the downy kingsize bed on the mezzanine, or the large floor-suspended hammock that's also ideal for gazing out across those gorgeous green fields.

Of course, your lovingly-crafted interiors are perfect for lazing, laughing and lounging, filled with careful attention to detail, and peppered with vibrant pops of colour throughout.

Head downstairs and curl up with a book on the sofa, or rustle up some tasty snacks for two in the well-equipped kitchen area (for an extra treat, why not order a Luxury Hamper, bursting with locally-sourced produce that includes tasty chocolate, Snowdonia cheese and elderflower lemonade?)

You may not want to tear yourselves away all holiday long - which is absolutely fine, by the way! But if you do find yourselves in the mood for a natureful wander, you're in serious luck.

Let's start with Maelinaidd, which is perfect for an energetic hike.   The renowned Elan Valley Dams are within a short distance too...we recommend taking your camera. Oh, and if you're into birdwatching, the Kite Feeding Station in nearby Rhayader overlooks both the Wye and Elan Valleys, and is a total must-visit.

If you're stocking up on supplies, the nearest village and shop is around six miles away, while you'll find plenty of handmade wooden seats and loungers strewn around the site. They're perfect for watching the spring lambs gambolling in the fields (you can even arrange to meet them if you like, as John and Laura offer tours during lambing season).

But if all that sounds far too energetic, simply sit back, relax, and maybe take advantage of an indulgent in-treehouse massage, before enjoying a bubble-filled dip in your gleaming copper bath...complete with countryside views.

(Welsh rural life is tough, but someone has to live it).
