  • Sleeps: 2
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

Dreamily set amongst the rugged, windswept landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, Chapel House soars above the remote clifftop woodlands of Diabaig, for superlative scenes of nature at its most breathtakingly beautiful.

This is an architect-designed, pet-friendly retreat that makes the absolute most of its surroundings, with a spacious balcony to help you watch the natural world go by over a wee dram. There’s also a sumptuous kingsize bedroom that showcases such incredible views, you may not want to sleep at all!

You’ll certainly feel like you’ve stumbled upon a well-kept secret as you arrive, ascending the steps into a relaxing living space that’s all your own. The pristine wooden flooring and comfy furnishings are immediately inviting, and there’s a wood-burning stove to give your evenings a warm glow.

Although those amazing views will keep you more than entertained, you’ll also find a TV (for DVD use only) to unwind in front of, with a radio and CD player to help you set the perfect musical mood. Grab a book from the well-stocked shelves if you prefer, and let nature’s soundtrack soothe you as you read.

Meanwhile, full self-contained facilities include a well-equipped kitchen for whipping up hearty romantic suppers, with a separate dining table – in prime position by the French windows! – to savour them around. You’ll also have a walk-in shower for indulgent morning freshen-ups, complete with a stack of fluffy towels.

If you can bear it, set an early alarm to catch the sunrise, and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature coming to life over your first coffee of the day… utter bliss.

(Though since you’re on holiday, there’s also a lot to be said for a lazy lie-in, as you watch the rustling of the leaves and the local birds right from your bed!)
