Sunridge Treehouse
England / Yealmpton, Devon
Embark upon a fairy-tale adventure at Sunridge Treehouse - a luxury treehouse escape in Devon's idyllic Yealm Valley, complete with its own hot tub and private fishing lake.
Nestled in its own secluded woodland area, Sunridge Treehouse offers exclusive accommodation for up to six people. Spacious enough for a family, intimate enough for a couple, everyone can enjoy a little bit of treetop heaven here.
Forget any preconceptions the word ‘treehouse' may bring to mind - Sunridge Treehouse is a beautiful, wooden-clad, two-storey abode that makes the most of living among the trees. Inside, a wonderfully modern interior offers every comfort of home, from HD TVs in every bedroom to underfloor heating.
The top floor is where you'll find the state-of-the-art kitchen, as well as the open-plan dining and living area. Enjoy unforgettable meals against a panoramic woodland backdrop. Curl up afterwards on the comfy sofa, warm your toes in front of the vintage log burner, and catch a guilty pleasure on the HD TV. And if there's nothing on, don't worry - you've got even more views of the gorgeous surroundings to soak up!
Sliding bi-fold doors lead out to the sensational wraparound deck, which seems to hover among the treetops. Take a moment to breathe in the fresh air, and look out for furry and feathered woodland neighbours - including squirrels, badgers, and a wide variety of birdlife.
The upper level also offers two large bedrooms - a comfy double and one twin room, which can also be configured as a double. The double room has its own en-suite wet room, while a bespoke family bathroom offers a luxurious free-standing bath for the ultimate soak.
Downstairs, another surprise awaits - an ultramodern snuggery, which doubles up as a private 3D cinema and games room. Watch the latest blockbuster on the HD projector, or grab a control pad and get competitive on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Come night time, two unfolding single beds come into their own, making this the perfect bedroom for teenagers!
Outside, a luxurious hot tub makes for memorable evenings spent relaxing among the trees, and then of course, there's the fishing lake. Teeming with carp, try your hand at a spot of coarse fishing, and see if you can beat the record of the 23-pounder...!
As well as Sunridge Treehouse, three other gorgeous choices wait among the trees - perfect if you're part of a large group and need more space. Everything is perfectly positioned, though, to ensure total privacy of the Treehouse, so you needn't worry about bumping into others if you like your own company!
Sunridge Lodge
Sunridge Lodge sleeps up to five people and has its own private garden space with decked area, plus access to the lake for those who book up for a spot of fishing. This luxurious converted barn oozes traditional charm from the outside, but inside, is a light, bright, modern home. Perfect for families, parents can sleep peacefully in the large double bedroom, while kids will love the mezzanine bedroom with two single beds and a futon.
You'll find touches of luxury throughout the Lodge, from the NEFF kitchen to the drench shower in the bathroom. There are no fewer than three games consoles to choose from, and don't forget the hand-built, cedar-clad hot tub for ultimate relaxation! A new optional add-on for the lodge is The HUB, a multi-functional space for exercise or entertainment, including a fitness suite, 3D home cinema, Dolby surround sound system, XBox One console, 50 Inch Smart HDTV, or after all that entertainment you want some alfresco time, you can enjoy a private generous decked outdoor area with garden furniture. All this is just a short distance from the lodge itself, and can be rented for an extra supplement from £300 per week.
Sunridge EcoPod
For an unforgettable romantic escape with minimal environmental impact, head to Sunridge EcoPod. It may be compact, but it's ingeniously designed to incorporate everything two people need without compromising on comfort. A fully fitted kitchen, a gas-fired shower, and underfloor heating are just some of the homely touches you'll find here.
Bi-fold doors open to your deck, beyond which is a large, private lawn. Toss another shrimp on the coal BBQ, uncork the wine, and soak up those spectacular views. And when darkness falls, curl up on the sofa-bed and enjoy your favourite film on the 50-inch 3D TV!
Sunridge Glamping
To really get back to nature, nothing beats a spot of camping - but make sure you do it in comfort in one of Sunridge's two beautiful bell tents! Sleeping up to four each, between a comfy double bed and two inflatable mountaineering mattresses, enjoy peaceful nights with just the canvas between you and the world. You won't miss out on any luxury here, though; with seagrass carpets, beanbags, power, fairy lights and even Wi-Fi in each one, you have all the comforts of home!
Wherever you stay, you're perfectly placed for exploring beautiful Devon. Magnificent beaches are just minutes away; pack up a picnic or order a hamper from the Riverford Farm Shop, and head to Mothecombe for its golden sands and verdant cliffs. Nature lovers will relish a trip to Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve, and then of course there's Dartmoor for walking and riding - only 15 minutes away. Foodies will also be in their element at the vast selection of restaurants and delis in the area, serving everything from freshly caught John Dory to a classic Devonshire cream tea!
When life gets hectic, they say getting back to nature is one of the best things you can do. But there's no reason to go back to basics at the same time! Why would you, when you can have all the luxury of Sunridge Treehouse?
