A unique, music-inspired chapel conversion that's perfect for large group celebrations, surrounded by soothing Yorkshire countryside.
  • Sleeps: 10
  • Bedrooms: 5
  • Bathrooms: 4
  • Minimum stay: 1 night

Sleeping up to 10 guests (and their two lucky dogs), Jukebox Altar is ideal for a harmonious get-together, surrounded by all the delights of North Yorkshire.

While it’s true that your surroundings are ripe for exploring – you could visit the famed Betty’s Tea Room in Harrogate, for example, or take an invigorating ramble through the Yorkshire Dales – Jukebox Altar will inspire plenty of awe on its own.

Packed with ‘wow-factor’ additions, and detailed, quirky décor that sings tunefully along with the converted chapel’s original features, you’ll be whipping out that camera-phone within minutes of arrival.

Come together in worship of good food, good music, and good times at the gleaming zinc dining table, as you browse the jukebox for some mood-setting tunes. There’s even a squishy Union Jack sofa to collapse on if you’ve over-indulged, and with a large ‘chef’s dream’ kitchen full of swish appliances (Aga, anyone?) that could be very likely!

When you’re finished, head down the long, gorgeous black-and-white hallway to the baby grand piano-equipped lounge, and fire up the wood-burner for an entertaining evening in. There’s a Smart TV for when you get tired of music-making, and plenty of comfy seating to relax in.

Then, claim your favourite bedroom from five divine, Smart TV-equipped sleeping spaces – including two kingsize rooms on the ground floor, where you’ll also discover an indulgent family bathroom.

Head up the magnificent wrought-iron staircase to access the charming twin room…not to mention the amazing wet room, with its copper bath, waterfall shower, and dreamy floor lighting. Meanwhile, the mezzanine is home to the swanky superking master room, complete with its own dressing room and en-suite spa bathroom.

More information

Last but by no means least, you’ll find an elegant double room in the vestry. Ideal for a couple who prefers doing their own thing, the room comes equipped with a lounge area, an en-suite shower room, and a basic kitchen with a fridge and gas hob.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast out on the sumptuous, comfortably furnished patio area, surrounded by an acre of enclosed, dog-and-child-friendly grassed land that’s ideal for running off some steam in! If you prefer a quieter space, there’s a second ‘sun trap’ garden with wooden loungers – perfect if you’ve brought a good book along with you.

With the scene perfectly set for heavenly relaxation, you may forget all about that exploring you were meant to be doing. Leave Ripley Castle for another day, you might think, as you cradle a chilled glass of wine…or maybe you’ll head out to Harrogate’s buzzing Blues Bar this evening for some live music.

Yet you may find that tearing yourselves away from your celestial chapel is far too much of a challenge!

Things to note

The chapel is dog and child-friendly. There is a pub in walking distance, but you will need a car to access the local shops. Please note that the vestry bedroom has limited headroom.
