Willkommen in Deutschland! So much more than the country of beer, schnitzel and Oktoberfest (though all that is pretty good…) there are so many wonders to uncover in Germany. Prepare yourselves for unsurpassed scenery, historic culture, fairytale castles…and of course, a collection of truly unique places to stay.

If you’re looking for a beach holiday, you may be surprised to learn that Germany has some of the best, most underrated beaches in Europe. A visit to Sylt, the country’s northernmost island, offers almost 40 km of Instagram-ready sand…so picking the perfect spot to lay your towel should be no problem!

The birthplace of Albert Einstein, Karl Marx, Beethoven and the Brothers Grimm, Germany’s historic impact on the world is tangible – for good and bad reasons, of course – and there’s no denying that a visit to the remains of the Berlin Wall, complete with murals from local artists and a unique memorial, will stir your senses.

Steeped in both beauty and culture, the great German cities offer a diverse extravaganza of fine architecture, immersive museums, opera houses, quirky shops and underground clubs.

Raise a joyful, foaming stein in Munich – particularly in October, when it’s customary to don your lederhosen for Oktoberfest! – and see a performance by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for some unforgettable melodies.

The Städel Museum is a fantastic reason to visit Frankfurt, showcasing over 700 years of artwork that beautifully merges classic with modern, while the once war-ravaged Dresden combines history with a love of the fine art world, a beautiful setting from which you can view priceless works from all over Europe.

The scenery throughout Germany is just as diverse, with the magnificent Bavarian Alps playing host to nineteenth-century Neuschwanstein Castle, which some say was the inspiration for the ‘Sleeping Beauty Castle’ created by Disney.  And of course, the rousing Black Forest – otherwise known as the National Park of Schwarzwald – is a whole new world of scenic magic, filled with idyllic scenes of lakes, pine trees and enchanting groves.

Wherever you go, there is plenty of opportunity to feast until your belly explodes in Germany, from succulent sausages and pretzels to roast pork, white asparagus and world-class wines.  We challenge you not to indulge!
