In need of a detox from hectic everyday life? Spirit your loved one away for a well-deserved break at Lilypod, a Devon sanctuary that boasts two sublime, hand-crafted pods.

Aptly named Heron and Kingfisher, each pod is nestled on a tranquil lake at Alder Farm, surrounded by mature whispering trees and soothing scenes of flowing water… a truly blissful setting for digital-free relaxation and reconnection.

The elegant pods themselves are created from Devonian timbers and powered by the sun, for an eco-friendly, off-grid experience that perfectly showcases the power and beauty of the natural world.  The peaceful farm itself is illuminated only by gentle starlight once night falls, priming your senses for a restful and restorative slumber.

Meanwhile, inside your chosen pod awaits everything that makes a luxury escape so magical, from convenient facilities to ultra-cosy comforts.  Creative flourishes, including a mesmerising wall mural, will make your surroundings feel truly unique.

Oh, and if you’re worried about missing your phone, fear not!  Bean bags, books, and boardgames are on hand for fun entertainment, and along with a soft-glowing wood-burner, hand-made hanging glass bulbs and accent lighting will cast a soft, warm haze over evenings spent deep in laughter-fuelled conversation.

Simply open a bottle of Alder wine and wrap yourselves up in butter-soft blankets to feel ridiculously cosy… though on balmy summer nights, why not relax around the firepit, perhaps after a sizzling barbecue supper?   If you’re staying in Heron, you’ll find both gently elevated over the lake, while Kingfisher guests need only wander to the pod’s magical al fresco space to savour those incredible sunset views.

When you’re finally talked out, make your escape to the kingsize bed; hand-made from oak and cedar, and dressed in sumptuous bamboo linen.

What the guests of Lilypod say

“Wow – what an amazing stay!! We stayed here after our wedding and it was absolutely beautiful. It is so peaceful and calm outside and we did some beautiful walks round the vineyard. In the mornings we walked up to the cafe and had a delicious breakfast and coffee. Before you arrive you get sent a very helpful manual which was great for us as we had never stayed anywhere ‘off grid’ before. Everything was easy to understand and the manual had great detailed instructions. The place was even more beautiful than the photos and so cosy – we stayed at the end of November so we got to enjoy the fire and hear the rain outside. If your arriving by car there is Waitrose about a 5 min drive away and lots of nearby places to drive to and explore. Would 100% recommend this stay if you are looking to rest and re-charge.”

“This is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days or more away from the city, enjoy the magical views, the warmth of the fire in the fireplace, peace and quiet. Kyle is very hospitable and friendly, met us, helped us get to this place and showed us around. The pod has everything you need for a comfortable stay, everything is tastefully decorated and made with love. On the lake, you can even hear the sound of a waterfall and in the evening small lights are beautifully lit and illuminate the pier to the pod. I am very glad that I found out about this amazing place and I plan to visit the Lilypod again.”

“A stunning location, perfect hosts and a beautifully crafted Lilypod. If you want to stay here then you’d better book soon as this currently undiscovered treasure is going to fill up fast when the secret gets out.”
