As you draw up to Mallory Meadows, you’ll feel your cares drift away as if by magic.

A glorious 2.5-acre glamping site in the heart of chocolate-box Leicestershire countryside, the friendly family owners have created the perfect setting for a blissful escape into nature.

All you have to do is choose your ideal retreat, from four country cabins and two romantic roundhouses. Each one is individually named and sumptuously furnished for comfort… and since each one also boasts its very own private hot tub, you can greet the sunset in style.

If you’ve brought the family along – four-legged members included – Squirrel and Hare are the most spacious cabins, each sleeping up to 2 adults and 2 children.

Secluded in the beautiful meadow, you’ll be surrounded on your fenced patio by mature, gently whispering trees. Watch the birds hopping from branch to branch, and cheeky squirrels searching for food (if you’re lucky, you may also catch a glimpse of the resident badgers at dusk).

Inside awaits a downy kingsize bed and sofa bed, with a Freeview TV to snuggle around, and an electric heater to keep you warm on chilly evenings. There’ll be no dashing to freezing communal facilities, either, since you’ll also have an en-suite shower room… oh, and there’s also a well-equipped kitchenette for feast-preparation.

If you managed to find a sitter for the kids and pets, Hedgehog and Badger are ideal for couples, with the same beautiful scenery and luxurious facilities as the larger cabins, only this time just for two.

More information

Named Jenny Wren and Robin’s Retreat, the ultra-stylish Roundhouses were built with support from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. You’ll find both nestled amongst soothing meadow greenery – see if you can spot playful rabbits in the grass! – next to the 13th century village church.

Perfect for two, the comfy kingsize bed offers an opportunity for stargazing right before you drift off to sleep, from the feature skylight above. Just like the cabins, you’ll also enjoy private kitchenette and shower facilities inside, with toasty underfloor heating.

Outside, you can relax on your generous deck, where you’ll find a jacuzzi hot tub – just add a bottle of bubbles! If you’re in the mood for a sizzling al fresco supper, there’s also a barbecue available to hire.

There’s no need to move so much as a muscle once you’ve settled in, but if you feel like exploring, a 10-minute drive will lead you into pretty local towns and villages. There are historic monuments to explore nearby, such as the site of the Battle of Bosworth, and you can even visit the bustling city of Leicester, in the extremely unlikely event that you miss city life.

Things to note

Well-behaved dogs are permitted in Squirrel and Hare cabins only.
