Full description
A unique 18th century Devon tower house with mesmerising Atlantic Ocean views, dog-friendly and perfectly set within walking distance of the long, surfer's paradise beach.

An authentic slice of 18th century history, the strikingly characterful Westward Ho! Tower House is known as the oldest building in the area, even pre-dating the local church.

Boasting supreme Atlantic Ocean views that lead your gaze across to Lundy Island, the tower is also perfectly positioned between the coastal, storybook-named town of Westward Ho! and the friendly village of Northam, with both the shops and the beach in easy walking distance.

Sleeping up to four guests (and their two well-behaved dogs), the tower's careful restoration has left many of its natural features beautifully intact, with soothing reclaimed oak throughout.

You'll enter straight into the spacious open plan lounge, kitchen and dining areas... noting that there are plenty of modern conveniences in these historic surroundings!

Equipped with a gas oven, a hob, and those all-important holiday essentials, a dishwasher and a microwave, the kitchen includes everything you'll need to whip up relaxed family feasts.  Meanwhile, the lounge is sumptuously furnished with plush sofas and a TV, for cosy evenings in.

Head up the stairs to discover a gorgeous twin room... with a peephole ‘lookout window' straight to Northam Burrows. Part of the North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you can check the quality of the surf without leaving your room!

Accessed via the shower room (which itself boasts sea views!) the master double bedroom features romantic exposed beams, and a downy bed that allows you to watch the sun setting over Westward Ho! Beach.

As if that wasn't enough, there will also be a wondrously tranquil and leafy ‘suntrap' of a garden waiting for you, complete with a mini barbecue, and a lawn with a closed-off pond... perfect for sundowners after a long day of exploring the local area!

Speaking of which, Northam is teeming with pubs, shops and restaurants, while the glorious two-mile stretch of sand at Westward Ho! beach is both family and surfer friendly.

You could also head for Northam Burrows Country Park, teeming with wildlife-rich areas of salt marshes and sand dunes that are begging to be photographed. Or how about a visit to the quaint harbour town of Bideford?

Whatever you decide, your hearts will soar at the thought of returning to Westward Ho! Tower, catching up on life and love with your favourite people, in what's sure to become your brand-new favourite retreat.

Things to note

Up to two well-behaved dogs are permitted, at a small extra cost per dog. A travel cot and highchair can be provided on request.
