A soulful architect-designed holiday home ideally placed for groups to discover the magic of Cornwall.

Created by Matt Robinson Architecture, Pentreath (Cornish for ‘head of the beach') is a luxurious and elegantly spacious home for up to seven people. So if you've been looking for an excuse to spirit your favourite people away for a well-deserved coastal break, you've just found it.

Blissfully set on a private lane, Pentreath overlooks a beautiful valley that leads down to the beach at Maenporth, set in the sheltered bay and just three miles from the harbour town of Falmouth. In fact, if you choose the penthouse master bedroom, or sit out in the secluded garden, you can enjoy sea views across Falmouth Bay to your heart's content.

Matt Robinson Architecture specialise in designing imaginative and sustainable homes that complement their surroundings, and that's exactly what you'll find at Pentreath. Light, fresh and relaxed, you'll feel welcome from the moment you step inside. Furnishings are stylish and cosy, while plush carpets, natural wood and immaculate paintwork set the elegant interior scene.

Most of the rooms are set on the generous ground floor...aside from the aforementioned penthouse master bedroom, so if morning sea views are your thing, stake your claim early! The balcony and frameless glass balustrade make for an ideal morning coffee spot.

If you've missed out on that penthouse, don't worry - the remaining bedrooms are charming and view-filled. The double ‘Garden Room' features a downy king-sized bed and French doors that lead straight to the garden, the second double looks out over the garden to the sea, and the single room also has garden views.

Meanwhile, you can cosy up in the generous living space, complete with corner sofa and widescreen TV (ideal for movie nights, especially when you can connect to Netflix!). Or you may prefer to spend some time in the home's heart, the sociable, beautifully bright kitchen and dining/chilling out area (with another large corner sofa!) that overlooks the garden. Watch passing ships and boats as you prepare your evening meal...even non-cooks will become addicted.

The facilities are as luxurious as you might expect, from the glistening rainfall shower to the stylish US-style fridge and freezer. Oh, and if you prefer al-fresco catch-ups, the huge garden features a squishy outdoor sofa, a picnic bench and a fire pit (don't forget those marshmallows). Kids both big and small will enjoy the rope swing, too!

Beyond Pentreath lies the magic of Cornwall, and surely no visit here would be complete without surfing on the beach? You can also try your hand at kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and even yoga on paddle boards if you feel so inclined! There are plenty of footpaths that start right at your front gate and lead you through woods or over fields to an array of beaches, simply take your pick.

Just a few minutes' walk away is Mawnan Smith village, an ideal place to stock up on holiday supplies, stop for a drink, or sample a traditional Cornish cream tea. Slightly further afield are Falmouth itself, and the Helford river.

With so much sea-worthy luxury to be found at Pentreath and beyond, there's surely no excuse for you not to indulge. All that sea air is said to be good for you, after all!
