Wild Wellingtons
Wales / Glynarthen, Ceredigion
Full description
Fun and naturally adventurous eco-glamping on a welcoming family-run site...that's achingly close to the Welsh coast!
Croeso! That Welsh word for "welcome" is particularly fitting at Wild Wellingtons, a ridiculously friendly, family-run site that promises to make everybody feel immediately at home.
Close to the coast (with plenty of beaches right on the doorstep) and rich in adventure-filled space, you'll have plenty of opportunity to relax, unwind, or go wild amongst nature...the choice is yours!
Choose your favourite off-grid accommodation from two spacious geodomes that sleep 4-6 guests, or a shepherd's hut-style haven, with 2 bedrooms, for up to 5, beautifully spaced amongst three blissful acres of natural meadow and a wooded copse.
Whichever you choose, you'll find your surroundings equipped with a cosy, bespoke-crafted kingsize bed and two singles, all dressed in dream-soft bedding. There'll be a woodburner to warm your evenings, cooking equipment, and plenty of al-fresco dining space.
Cromen Ddôl (Meadow Dome) is the largest dome (photos don't do the size justice!), featuring gorgeous high ceilings and extra room for two fold-up beds or a travel cot if needed, so perfect for families. You'll find a private eco-loo next door, and huge windows that bring the outside, inside...what more could you possibly need?
Meanwhile, Cromen Glan Môr (Seaside Dome) sleeps four guests in comfort, with clean, coastal-style décor throughout. Though four is the perfect number for this dome, you can squeeze in a fifth guest on one of the comfy and sturdy fold up beds provided.
Cwt ar y Bryn (Hut on the Hill) is the perfect setting for that true ‘wow factor' break amongst nature, boasting the best views from expansive south-facing oak windows and French doors, and furnished in pure, minimalist style the friendly owners have dubbed ‘Welsh-Scandi'!
Generous facilities include luxurious, family-sized wet rooms, all easily accessed from your accommodation...so you can relax in comfort.
You'll find plenty for everybody to do, with children's play areas equipped with a play fort and a bouncy trampoline, a playing field, an enchanting fairy-lit willow den, and an abundance of natural space to stretch out in, armed with a good book. If you fancy heading out for the day, a mere 10-minute drive will lead you to some glorious local beaches, while you can stock up on supplies or pop to a local pub in even less driving time! The owners have packed a welcome folder with suggestions on where to go, what to do and adventures to have in West Wales.
Prefer sticking around and making new friends? Then head straight for the thriving communal hub - a quirky, raised storybook-style kitchen cabin that comes complete with an outdoor veranda, woodburner and breakfast bar that takes in the views, as well as sofa, hobs, fridges, games, activities and colouring supplies plus plenty of space for cooking, dining and relaxing. There's even a reading nook for little ones to hide in.
By evening, you can look forward to storytelling in the open air, as you gather round the campfire and gaze up at the stars in that huge, clear night sky (in which you can actually see the Milky Way!) and if you fancy having an indoor fire or barbecue, there's a large Hansel and Gretel barbecue cabin that fits around 3 families.
Natural life at its loveliest, you're sure to agree that just one visit to Wild Wellingtons isn't enough.
