Tucked away at the end of a country lane on a tranquil Derbyshire farm is Haddy's Hut - an exquisite, hand-crafted shepherd's hut in the heart of the Peak District.
  • Sleeps: 2
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

A truly magical setting for a romantic retreat, Haddy’s Hut sleeps two in perfect happiness.  Soak up the simple life without leaving your creature comforts behind, and prepare for stunning views of the Hope Valley every way you turn.

Standing in its own gravel courtyard, with flocks of sheep in neighbouring fields, Haddy’s Hut has been beautifully crafted to blend the appearance of a traditional shepherd’s hut with 21st-century luxury.

Once a common feature of the Peak District landscape, shepherd’s huts provided shelter for the shepherd and lambs during lambing season. Today, Haddy’s Hut – with its gorgeous green, corrugated metal exterior and cast iron spoked wheels – may look quite similar to these spectacles of agricultural history, but inside is a different story!

A wonderfully homely haven waits beyond those double French doors, with everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay.  Oozing country charm, thanks to real wood flooring, wood-panelled walls in the perfect shade of cream, and gorgeous finishing touches throughout, you’ll feel instantly welcome in this cosy, yet spacious, home-from-home.

As you settle in, you’ll start to notice the many handcrafted elements that make Haddy’s Hut so unique.  A beautiful bespoke kitchen, fully fitted with a full-size hob and single oven with a grill, is ideal for cooking romantic meals together.  The elegantly crafted bed offers a cosy nook to lay your heads below the charming window and shutters.  And there’s more than enough space to store your belongings in the large drawers ingeniously incorporated underneath.

Designed with every comfort in mind, Haddy’s Hut has all you need under one roof – from the TV and DVD player for entertainment, to the fully fitted bathroom with a shower and flushing toilet.  So have no fears of reaching for your wellies in the middle of the night – in fact, you don’t even need to reach for your slippers thanks to the under floor heating.

And whether you’re visiting in springtime to see lambs dancing in the meadows, or in the depths of winter when the Peaks are wearing a blanket of snow, Haddy’s Hut is the ideal year-round retreat.  As well as electric lighting (handy for when the nights are drawing in), you’ll be kept snug as a bug thanks to the superb insulation, double-glazed windows, and toasty wood-burning stove.
