From the moment you cast your gaze over the surrounding vineyards, the lush valley dotted with grazing sheep, and the gently babbling streams, you’ll understand why The Treehouse at the Fold was created with such exceptional care.
The luxurious retreat is completely and authentically off-grid: part of a unique collection of unusual places to stay that were specifically designed and built by owner Matthew himself, to introduce guests to the natural beauty of the Herefordshire farm he grew up on.
You’ll discover the solar-powered Treehouse beautifully elevated amongst the rustling leaves, over 18 mesmerising acres of land that forms part of an idyllic woodland pasture (one that you’re blissfully free to explore). Alive with diverse birdlife, you may occasionally hear the sound of resident woodpeckers as you cradle morning coffee out on the deck.
By evening, unwind with a soak in the opulent copper bathtub you’ll also find out on the deck, in prime stargazing position. It’s the perfect way to end an evening of hearty al fresco dining, with supper whipped up in the Kamado barbecue or wood-fired pizza oven. And since there’s an outdoor firepit to keep you warm, it may be a while before you venture back inside!
When you do, you’ll be greeted by a sumptuous, soft-toned living space, furnished with lounge chairs that are perfect for chatting over a glass of wine, or simply relaxing with a good book. Facilities include a well-equipped kitchen with a gas hob, and a piping-hot shower for freshening up.
The superking bed, meanwhile, isn’t just dressed for sound nights of slumber, but perfectly set for you to enjoy the most magnificent morning views. Simply open the glass doors and let the emerging daylight – and birdsong – drift inside, as you plan what you’ll do with the day ahead.
With your well-behaved dog welcome to stay (there’s even an outdoor Belfast sink that’s ideal for washing muddy paws!), you’re free to stroll through the grounds and explore. Why not pack a tasty picnic and wander wherever your instincts lead?
