The unique collection of retreats at The Fold have each been carefully crafted, to make zero negative impact on the abundant natural beauty that surrounds them.
Completely and authentically off-grid, the site is powered by the sun with water direct from the family-run farm’s very own borehole, so you can luxuriate in the magnificent rural Herefordshire scenery completely guilt-free.
Constructed by owner Matthew – who is also a professional builder – The A-Frame is grandly elevated on a hillside, in an 18-acre setting of re-wilded countryside.
Full, jaw-dropping glass frontage means you can keep a close eye on nature all holiday long, while the wood-burning fire and plenty of freshly-plumped cushions ensure you’ll be kept blissfully warm and comfy on cooler evenings. Why not get lost in a good book, or challenge your loved one to a board game?
There’s a well-equipped kitchen with a gas hob for whipping up romantic feasts, though should you care to venture out to the deck, you’ll find a Kamado barbecue and pizza oven all ready and waiting… ideal for whipping up sizzling suppers by sunset.
Oh, and if you’re in the mood to linger outside a while longer, a soothing dip in your wood-fired hot tub is the perfect accompaniment to stargazing, chilled glass of bubbles in hand.
Indulge in sound nights of slumber in the mezzanine sleeping space, gainfully furnished with a cosy, luxury linen-dressed superking bed. When you wake, savour aromatic morning coffee made in your moka pot… followed by an invigorating, utterly addictive freshen-up in the outdoor deluge shower!

More information
How to spend the rest of your time at The Fold? With your well-behaved dog also welcome to stay, you could set out on a long walk through the grounds, past the whispering trees planted by the family themselves, and by the streams Matthew and his sister splashed around in as children.
Prefer heading further afield? Herefordshire is chock-full of beautiful walking trails, with Offa’s Dyke practically on the doorstep, and the mighty Pen y Fan just a short drive away. Meanwhile, the shimmering River Wye is one of the few rivers that can be navigated by canoe for over 100 miles, if you should choose!
For something a little less energetic, weave your way through quaint independent shops in Hay-on-Wye, otherwise known as the ‘Town of Books’, or visit the town of Hereford for its awe-inspiring cathedral and picturesque river views.
Things to note
Well-behaved pets are welcome to stay at an additional charge per pet. Babies are welcome but please bring your own cot and equipment. Note that there are no 3-pin plugs, but you will have solar USB charging plugs for devices, along with Wi-Fi if needed.
