Carrying passengers on the historic Forge Valley Line until 1950 (first as Wilton Station, and then as Ebberston Station), The Old Station at Allerston is home to a selection of lovingly restored, first-class retreats.

Once a bustling hive of activity, the Ticket Office and linked staff quarters have been carefully refurbished as a holiday cottage that’s just the ticket for railway enthusiasts, or simply those who appreciate vintage-styled accommodation on the edge of the scenic North York Moors.

Sleeping up to four adults, there are two comfortable, spacious bedrooms, both of which feature either a superking or twin beds – whichever you prefer. Each bedroom also boasts its own en-suite with a roomy walk-in shower, so there’ll be no queueing for morning freshen-ups.

Close attention has been paid to preserving the ticket office’s original features, many of which you’ll discover in the cosy lounge and dining area, along with a warming wood-burning stove in the original fireplace.

Vintage posters and framed railway maps adorn the walls, while the furnishings have been painstakingly chosen to evoke a sense of soothing times past.

Not that you’ll be without modern conveniences during your stay.  The well-equipped kitchen is home to all the facilities a luxury-loving holidaymaker might expect, including a dishwasher and a washer-dryer.

There’s also underfloor heating throughout, so your evenings will feel irresistibly toasty. Light the wood-burning stove, pour a welcome drink, and sink into a leather sofa, for relaxed, laughter-fuelled conversations that last long into the night.
