Full description
Bespoke-designed eco-havens, wood-fired hot tubs and wild fitness, beautifully secluded on a working Northumberland farm with idyllic views of the coast.

Nestled amongst unspoilt woodland on a friendly Northumberland farm, there's a blissful sense of rural paradise at Hillside Huts and Cabins.

Owners Philip and Fiona have worked hard on creating their dreamlike retreat, channelling Philip's previous experience in travel management, and their combined interest in wildlife and the environment.

As a result, each hut and cabin is bespoke-designed and lovingly hand-built from reclaimed wood, with toasty sheep's wool insulation and electricity from the farm's own wind turbine.

Overlooking a wildflower meadow, with glorious views of the Northumbrian coast, you'll never want to leave... particularly since you'll also have your own private wood-fired hot tub to help you welcome in the sunset.

Named after the family's youngest dog, Saba's Hut is a traditional shepherd's hut, complete with a stargazing roof and cosy sleeping spaces for a young family of four. After you've unwound in the outdoor shower, with views across the rolling countryside, you'll never want to freshen up inside again!

Perfect for a romantic couple and their well-behaved dog, Tilly's Hut features a luxurious en-suite power shower, with a furnished deck for lazy afternoon chats over a bottle of wine.

Also named after a much-loved family dog, Lottie's Cabin is inspired by a pioneer cabin fresh from the Rocky Mountains; a spacious double-storey haven for two with an indulgent freestanding bath.

Whichever you choose, you'll have a wood-burning stove to warm your evenings, full kitchen facilities, and luxurious, detail-oriented extras.

Along with fluffy towels and Egyptian cotton bedding, there are gorgeous goat's milk soaps, hand-made on a local farm, and a mouth-watering basket of goodies - including home-made chocolate cake and fresh farm eggs - waiting to welcome you.

Once you've settled in, why not take a stroll around the wildflower meadow strewn with bees and butterflies? You could also head for the farm's ancient oak woodland where Philip and Fiona have planted over 4,000 trees... if you're lucky, you might even spot the resident roe deer.

Revitalise your soul with a daily on-site yoga class, or if you prefer an energising dip, Druridge Bay is a beautiful wild swimming spot;  just three miles away it's the ideal way to begin a new sunshine-filled day.

Things to note

Dogs must be kept on a lead on the farm site. Specialist yoga and wild fitness retreats are available throughout the year, as well as 2-day wild woodland management courses. Please contact the owners for details and dates.

The huts and cabins are in close proximity to each other in a wood and you may occasionally hear laughter from the other huts and see other guests. The huts and cabins are on a working farm and you may see and hear tractors in the field making hay.

Initial amount of firewood provided for the Woodburning stove. Extra supplies for the hot tub and fire pit can be provided at an additional cost. Wifi included. Please bring torches and suitable footwear.
