A quirky hobbit home worthy of Bilbo Baggins, on a fun-packed family campsite set within the North Holland Dune Reserve.

Just 30 minutes from Amsterdam, surrounded by the breathtaking North Holland Dune Reserve, and bordered by nature-steeped forest land, Camping Geversduin really seems to have it all.

When you factor in the wealth of fun family activities, generous on-site facilities, a range of unusual accommodation, and friendly staff on hand...what more could you possibly ask for?

Well, how about a unique Hobbit House that's worthy of Bilbo Baggins himself?

Dreamily built into a hill and covered with grass and turf, the insulated house sleeps up to two adults and two children, which makes it the ideal family escape. Particularly as absolutely everything you need will be waiting for you inside.

For starters, you'll have your own shower and toilet, so there'll be no queuing for communal facilities. There's also toasty underfloor heating, and authentic touches that include round windows, fur-lined furnishings, a quirky sink, and Elvish inscriptions (the language of Middle Earth) painted on the walls!

Whip up family meals in the well-equipped kitchen area, complete with four-burner stovetop, fridge, and that all-important coffee maker. Relax in the cosy living room, equipped with a TV and DVD player, and when it's time to get some rest, there's a downy double bed, and a large bunk that's roomy enough for two small children.

(You'll need that rest, by the way, because once you start exploring the site you'll want to dive straight in to all the activities on offer).

There truly is something for everyone here, from dancing, creativity sessions and nature trails, to pony trekking, fruit picking and campfire dinners.  If the kids prefer doing their own thing, there are several playgrounds strewn around the site, and even a seven-metre Watch Tower to climb and observe all the camp's goings-on!

Oh - and there are also table tennis and volleyball courts, not to mention a football pitch to run wild on.

Meanwhile, you won't need to leave the site to relax, dine, and stock up on supplies. Collect freshly-baked bread from the mini market every day, and grab some much-needed family time at the on-site restaurants. There's even a launderette, ideal for freshening up your family's clothes after a hard day exploring those dunes!

If you'd rather spend some time off site, the beach is a mere 4km away - simply hire a bike and whizz through the woods, and you're there. And of course, Amsterdam is close by too, for a fun day spent in the bustling city.

As you come to the end of yet another action-packed day, you'll all feel grateful that the journey back to your amazing Hobbit House won't be a perilous one through Middle Earth!
