Coastal Cabins is far removed from your average glamping site.  First off, the site occupies a dreamlike position in North Devon, just above the windswept Hartland coastline. Surrounded by unspoilt countryside, the views are truly spectacular.

Then, there are the amazing on-site facilities, including a ‘Wild Spa’ hot tub area, a scenic fishing lake, and a handcrafted barbecue cabin.

As if all that wasn’t enough, your accommodation is irresistibly cosy and comfortable, consisting of ten elegant wooden cabins – two for couples, and eight for families. Each cabin is perfectly positioned around the lake, for that blissful feeling of leaving all your everyday cares far behind.

The cabins are individually named, and you’ll find each one has its own charm and character. The couple’s cabins come equipped with a downy kingsize bed for the grown-ups, and a small double sofa bed that’s suitable for two small children under six.  Meanwhile, the family cabins each feature bunk beds, to accommodate a family of four.

Whichever cabin you choose, you can expect a refreshing en-suite shower room (no queuing for communal loos!), a well-equipped kitchenette, and a furnished decking area to accompany that blazing sunset in style.

After a sound night’s sleep and a hearty home-cooked breakfast, it’s on to planning out your day!

It almost goes without saying that beach holidays are well catered for in this beautiful part of the world, and with the invigorating North Devon Coastal Path just over a mile from your cabin door, that’s stunning walks covered, too.

But if you’re determined to lay out that beach towel and relax, the National Trust-run Sandy Mouth is a mere 15-minute drive away, or if you’re up for a longer drive then Woolacombe Bay, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its dramatic cliffs and three-mile surfer’s paradise beach, is accessible in under an hour.

With lots of lovely private coves closer to base, including an accessible beach at Hartland Quay, just 2 miles away – with pub and restaurant – there’s no need to venture too far to hear the sound of the waves.

There’s plenty more to explore, of course, from award-winning theme parks, to bustling villages. But if you’d rather stay on site, you won’t have much chance to get bored. Pitch yourself up by the fishing lake, or book yourself a session in the Wild Spa Hot Tub – the ‘Captain’s Seat’ will ensure you get the full benefit of the master massage jets! Simply add a cold glass of bubbles, then sit back and gaze up at the sky, or across to the Atlantic.

Meanwhile, there’s a mobile spa on hand for in-cabin pampering, and if you feel like heading out to a local restaurant later on, the friendly on-site babysitter can take care of your little ones for you.

Otherwise, why not stay put, and enjoy a laughter-filled barbecue in the handmade timber cabin? Seating up to 25 people, and accessible to all guests, it’s a great way to make new friends, along with holiday memories that are sure to last long in your mind.

What the guests of Coastal Cabins say

“Wow, these beautiful cabins have it all. Cosy, peaceful and picturesque. Janet, the owner was very welcoming and had lots of info on the area and its surroundings. This place is a must for anyone who enjoys camping with all the comforts. We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and enjoyed an hour in the wild spa hot tub. The area is so beautiful and quiet – we had BBQs in the evening on the porch and watched the sun go down over the lake. This place is a perfect getaway with beautiful places to visit. We definitely plan to return.”

“We went for a long weekend to coastal cabins, our second visit to this beautiful setting. What can I say ….if you are looking for tranquility with the luxury of glamping, look no further! The cabins are very tastefully decorated with everything you need in them to ensure your stay is memorable. Janet and John were around when we arrived and could not do enough for us. A welcome gift of prosecco and fudge awaited us in our cabin which I thought was a lovely touch. Cannot fault these beautiful cabins or the location, we had a fantastic time and will be definitely returning next year. Keep up the great work Melissa, Janet and John!”

“We stayed at Coastal Cabins for a week in August 2019. We had a really wonderful week. The location of the cabins is perfect for exploring the north coast of Devon and Cornwall and the cabins themselves were perfect for our little family. The cabins were really clean and everything so well kept. The organisation and ease of booking was great too, with constant communication from Janet and Melissa. We will certainly be looking to come back again, thank you for having us.”
