A dog-friendly, boutique-style retreat with a wood fired hot tub, in the Devon countryside, and the coast in temptingly easy reach.
  • Sleeps: 4
  • Bedrooms: 2
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 2-3 nights

Sleepy Owl Devon isn’t just set amongst 20 pure, tranquil acres of private countryside. The picture-perfect site is also on the border of the sweeping Devon and Cornwall coast, meaning you’ll have easy access to some of the country’s best-loved beaches (ideal if you’re into sunbathing, sailing, swimming, or surfing!)

Better still, it’s also the location of three luxurious, lovingly-styled retreats that are ideal for a romantic couple or small-family escape. And since you can also bring your best four-legged friends along, no-one has to stay behind.

Cosy Cowshed is one such retreat: a converted haven that’s furnished for sumptuous, boutique-style relaxation. Charm and care exude from every room, whether the lavish superking master bedroom with cinema projector or cosy, living space that opens out onto the terrace (making morning coffee an event to savour) or the lounge’s comforting log-burning stove that warms snuggly evenings in to perfection.

That’s before you’ve even ventured outside – to discover a sheltered dining area-with-a-view, dining space, lazy-afternoon-worthy day bed or hammocks in the garden, a wood-fired pizza oven and barbecue for supreme home-cooked suppers… and a hot tub to help you welcome the stars in style!

The kids, meanwhile, get to slumber a separate twin room with gorgeous canopied beds, and the dogs (you can bring up to two, at an additional charge per dog) wil get their own beds, blankets, towels, treats, and bowls. Cowshed has a secure huge garden for your doggies to play and there are on-site doggy showers with hot-and-cold water, and light-up collars on hand for night-time toilet trips.

If it’s raining outside, you can cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen, where you’ll find a chilled bottle of bubbles and a welcome treat to make you smile just as soon as you arrive. Further treats – from hiring a private chef to holiday accompaniments that include celebration packages, massage, popcorn makers and marshmallow-toasting kits – can be pre-ordered to make your stay extra-special: just ask.

Entertainment comes in the form of a giant projector-screen for you to catch up on the latest blockbusters in the master bedroom, along with a thoughtful selection of board games, books, and magazines that suit kids and grown-ups. You’ll also have a telescope and binoculars for stargazing and nature-watching, and picnic bag packs to keep you nicely fuelled while exploring the site’s meandering woodland and wildflower-dotted trails.
