New to Host Unusual: Three Cornish Gems from Forever Cornwall

23 July 2017

Cornwall: defined by its breathtaking coastline, from jutting limestone cliffs to expansive soft sandy beaches; a coastline that gradually tapers into the Atlantic.  This is where dream holidays happen in beautiful settings, so its unrelenting popularity year after year comes as no surprise. Today we bring you three new unique properties in association with our friends at Forever Cornwall, each with its own charm and style that befits a scenic location close to coastal delights.

North Wing

A coastal castle retreat with serious panache, North Wing is a first-floor apartment in a converted castle overlooking the popular Mounts Bay area (see main picture). Comprising two bedrooms, it’s perfect for a pair of couples or family of four who like their holidays with a touch of quirkiness. The tower itself dates back to 1776, and a former caretaker was none other than John Carter ‘The King of Prussia’. It is said that smugglers’ tunnels even run from the tower to the beach! Luckily you won’t need these, as beyond the gorgeous gardens at the front of the house you’ll be able to directly access the South West Coast Path and all its idyllic coves and beaches.

Lighthouse View Beach Chalet

As the name suggests, this cute chalet-style property looks out over the iconic Godrevy Lighthouse – what a view to wake to every day!  The interior of this perfect beach retreat is refreshingly vibrant following renovation, with white walls, accents of colour and contemporary furnishings throughout giving the ‘chalet’ holiday a new lease of life. Perfect for a family or group of up to four, you can also bring your pooch with you – a truly inclusive family beach break. The location could not be better – and aside from those killer views, a mere 100 metre trail takes you to the perfect white sands of Gwithian where you can swim and surf ’til your heart’s content.

Sheepfold and Sheepshed

These two neighbouring architect-designed eco-barns are the result of expert craftsmanship and can be booked together for a perfect family holiday option near popular Bedruthan Steps.  Sheepfold has floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a stylish mix of rustic and industrial features across its three bedrooms. Sleeping 8, it can be booked on its own – but if your group size is slightly larger why not add Sheepshed, which has an intriguing simplicity to it along with high ceiling and wooden floors, plus an extra double and twin room ideal for a group of up to 12 guests in total – sounds like a  pretty sophisticated beach party to us!
