Retreat to Tinkers Treehouse, a luxuriously romantic treetop hideaway, privately nestled in the rustling East Sussex leaves.
  • Sleeps: 2
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

Located in the peaceful East Sussex village of Ticehurst – Tinkers Lane, to be exact! – Tinkers Treehouse is privately set within five gloriously secluded acres of leafy woodland, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Full of wildlife and with endlessly spectacular views, this treetop retreat is the perfect place to relax and reconnect amongst the blissful serenity of nature, surrounded by plenty of hotel-style luxury. What better way to escape from the frenetic hustle and bustle of your daily life?

Feel immediately welcome as you tread the woodchip path and take the stairs to your handcrafted holiday home, noting that the secluded sun deck is the ideal setting from which to greet the sunrise and sunset alike. Curl up with a good book and a steaming mug of coffee, or simply sit and chat the evening away over a glass of wine, as you gaze out across your own meadow (you may even spot a few resident deer if you’re lucky!)

There are plenty of creature comforts to be found inside, too. Your glorious open-plan space features everything from a 32″ TV and a squashy leather sofa, to a fully fitted kitchen and a rainfall shower. Light the log burning stove by evening, or if you prefer, watch the first stars appear in the night sky over marshmallows toasted in the fire pit below.

Curl up at the end of a long day exploring the area in the downy king-sized bed and awake to the joyous sounds of birdsong as you prepare a hearty breakfast.  In the fresh morning light, notice the exquisite décor all around you, including cosy rugs and feathered lampshades.

Indeed, you may feel so ridiculously snug that you won’t feel like going out at all – and who could blame you? However, with so much to see and do all around (and so close, too!), it would be a shame not to venture out at least once.

Simply head to the bottom of the field to begin your journey to the sparkling Bewl Water Reservoir. Those in the mood to exert a little more energy can arrange some adrenaline-fuelled activities in the woodland, or perhaps head to the nearby golf clubs for a few scenic rounds.

What the guests of Tinkers Treehouse say

“What a truly amazing place. We have had the most wonderful few days. This was the perfect place for our post wedding blues! We walked into the village and had lunch at the Bell which is also glorious! Then sat outside and had a bonfire with bubbles in the evening. We are hoping that when the bigger treehouse is finished we can come back withour children, but this has been just perfect!”

“Beautifully conceived and built with great attention to detail. Admirable eco-credentials and well thought out, with a bonus of Bewl Water on the doorstep. Very comfortable layout and design.”

“What a magical Christmas it has been staying in the treehouse! Plenty of walking and cosying up with the log fire on! Christmas dinner at the Cherry Tree was tasty and a great atmosphere. The treehouse is an absolute credit to you and the decor is simply beautiful – the copper touches to die for! The kitchen is well equipped and the welcome hamper a delight. Will definitely return and recommend to others!
