The Oakey Koakey Treehouse
England / Ticehurst, East Sussex
Full description
Get set for family fun, fresh adventure and relaxing woodland seclusion at The Oakey Koakey Treehouse, just an hour away from London.
A childhood dream made enchantingly real, the Oakey Koakey Treehouse is the perfect hideaway for small families in need of a woodland retreat (yet still enjoying all those essential creature comforts!)
You'll find the secluded Oakey Koakey Treehouse in Downash Wood, set within five gloriously secluded acres of East Sussex woodland designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Though you'll feel as though you've been spirited magically away from your stressful daily lives, your treetop home is in fact a mere hour away from London - making this an ideal spot for nature-loving City dwellers!
There's plenty of space in your private meadow for the kids to explore and let their imaginations run wild. Meanwhile, the adults can keep watch from the spacious wooden decking, equipped with comfy chairs and scenic countryside views. Relax amongst the whispering oak treetops with a glass of wine, and if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the resident deer or badgers!
The treehouse itself blends beautifully with its rural surroundings, with distressed oak wood and soft-toned décor creating an instantly relaxing atmosphere. The open-plan living, dining and sleeping space has a light and bright Scandi-style feel, with plenty of space to lounge with a book.
A downy king-sized bed awaits when it's time to turn in, while the kids' bunk room is all natureful adventure! A silver birch branch ladder and bird box hangers add plenty of fun, turning the room into a mini treehouse all of its own.
Well-placed windows mean you can enjoy those spectacular views whatever the weather happens to be like. With a well-equipped kitchen inside, you can choose whether to eat in, or head down to the firepit and barbecue below for a sizzling supper under the stars.
If you prefer dining out, the nearby village of Ticehurst is home to a delicious bakery, and an award-winning country pub to hole yourselves up in for as long as you feel the need!
Simply stay put and relax all holiday long, or if you're in the mood for adventure there's plenty to be found in the woodland. There are golf clubs nearby too, for those who like to spoil a good walk (as Mark Twain memorably quipped).
The Bewl Water Reservoir begins right from the bottom of the nearby field, while if you jump in the car you can visit cultural landmarks including Bodiam Castle, or even head for the beaches of Camber Sands and Rye.
However you choose to while away your days together, you'll want to be back at your treehouse to catch those glorious evening sunsets. Time to breathe easy and indulge.
Things to note
No pets are permitted to stay. No smoking permitted. Minimum booking period 2 nights during the week and 3 night at weekends. Changeovers Monday Wednesday and Friday.
