The Old Kings Head was once a charming country pub, peacefully secluded in the rural Somerset village of Burrowbridge. These days, it’s a welcoming retreat for groups of up to eight guests, with plenty to enthral both inside and out.

The interior is a mesmerising blend of original features and modern elements, with not one but two TV-equipped lounge spaces, and a chic, country-style kitchen that’s a pleasure to cook in.

Hang out all together in the laid-back bar room, complete with a traditional fruit machine, dartboard and table football to unleash those competitive spirits! When it’s finally time for bed, you’ll only have to head upstairs to your choice of four cosy bedrooms.

Sun still shining? Ample outdoor space includes a furnished patio, a communal orchard fire pit that’s ideal for storytelling and stargazing, and a swimming pool (heated between May and September) for lazy afternoon laps.

Shared on-site facilities include a well-equipped gym and licensed river fishing. You’ll also have the option of exploring these idyllic chocolate-box surroundings, either on two feet or two wheels, with secure bike storage on hand at the retreat.
