Enjoy the magnificent panorama all around you, with Glastonbury Tor visible on the horizon, as you breathe in clear air and smell the soft scent of wildflowers in the breeze. The surrounding fields are home to a wildlife sanctuary, offering plenty of opportunity to make friends with the local roe deer, foxes, hares, rabbits and badgers who are all frequent visitors…along with the resident barn owl, and not forgetting the Pipistrelle bats who reside in the log cabin!
Eco-friendly, the site is off-grid – giving you a blissful opportunity to reconnect with nature, and each-other. Electricity is available from solar panels, and gas powers most of the equipment provided.
The expertly crafted log cabin, with its very own wildflower meadow and exceptional countryside views, is the perfect place to get back to nature – whilst relaxing with a more than a few creature comforts built in! Comfortably housing up to 5 people, the loft-based sleeping spaces (two double, one single) are accessed by stepladders…perfect for the more adventurous holidaymaker! There’s also a double sofa bed available on the ground floor, along with a generous kitchen/living area and a shower, toilet and sink.
The well-equipped kitchen includes all you need for whipping up tasty feasts, with a sociable table and chairs ideal for congregating – that is, when you’re not dining al fresco with a sizzling barbecue. Larger groups can enjoy the cabin alongside a 4-metre bell tent close by, so there’s no need for anyone to miss out on an important celebration.
The kitchen area includes a large family fridge and a gas oven – though why not gather everyone together for a communal barbecue and a traditional fireside singsong under the stars? There’s also a covered barn available for rainier days and endless family activities…simply let your imagination run free!
For larger group celebrations including weddings, the cabin and bell tents can be hired together for a truly special event to remember forever – why not make the whole Old Summer Dairy site completely yours for a while, with any extra guests bringing their own tents or camper vans? The friendly owners, Edward and Claire, are happy to discuss your requirements and can also provide contacts for cakes and group catering. And if you’re visiting the Glastonbury Festival you’re in luck, as the site offers a fantastic boutique glamping experience within easy reach of the festival itself.
