Mount Hooley Cabin is the proud winner of the 2026 Showcase Award for ‘Sustainable Stay’. Topped with grass, the eco-friendly Canadian-style log cabin blends beautifully into the rural Cumbrian landscape, elevated 1,200 feet above sea level for the most spectacular South Tyne Valley views.
Up to eight guests and three well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay at this relaxing and scenic retreat, with sociable open-plan living designed to spark hours of fun catch-up conversation.
You’ll be perfectly cosy whatever the time of year, with a wood-burner and large, inviting leather sofas for cooler months. Huge bi-fold doors don’t just welcome the outside in, but allow you to keep an eye on that ever-changing landscape.
Meanwhile, the expansive wooden deck will help you make the most of the summer sunshine. Grab a sun lounger and a good book, tell stories around the firepit, or take a stargazing soak in the hot tub, under Gold Tier dark skies.
Four elegant, log-walled bedrooms await when it’s finally time to turn in: one double and three superking or twin rooms. Given that you’re right on the doorstep of some incredible walks – through unspoilt, wildlife-steeped countryside known as “England’s last wilderness” – there’s no doubt you’ll need those sound nights of sleep!
