The Gin and Thresher
- Sleeps: 18
- Bedrooms: 8
- Bathrooms: 8
- Minimum stay: 1 night
The Gin and Thresher is a creative blend of two Northumberland farm buildings, connected by a glass walkway. Ideal for memorable group stays, the family-friendly retreat sleeps up to 18 guests, with bespoke features worthy of the grandest celebrations!
Underfloor heating will keep everybody toasty on cooler days, while handmade furniture includes squishy leather sofas for high-quality lounging. The curved open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner is also home to a walnut baby grand piano, for impeccably stylish singalongs.
If the singing gets too loud, simply steal away to the fairytale-inspired library, with its ‘hidden’ reading snug and electric wood-burner… bliss. Or why not take up residence in the indoor Victorian botanic garden, and let the lush foliage and water feature soothe your weary senses?
Meanwhile, you’ll find the kitchen ably equipped for feasts of just about every description, to be devoured at the huge ‘centrepiece’ dining table over bubbles and laughter.
You’ve also got the option to enjoy a pre-dinner tipple in the Art Deco-style cocktail bar area; elegantly styled with glistening chandeliers, bar optics, comfy seating, and a Bluetooth speaker for setting the perfect background mood. On summer evenings, bi-fold doors lead straight to the patio, where you can raise a toast to the blazing sunset.
When it’s time to turn in, you’ll have eight characterful bedrooms to choose from, each resplendent with its own style – and a Smart TV for in-room entertainment. The four-poster kingsize room boasts an en-suite with a scenic copper bathtub, while French doors lead to a private balcony (tip: if you’re the one who’s celebrating, claim this room as your own!).
Other rooms include two more kingsize rooms with en-suite facilities, three superking or twins with en-suite wet rooms – one also features private outdoor seating – and two en-suite family-friendly rooms that each sleep up to three guests.
