Known as Scotland’s Ultimate Road Trip, the iconic North Coast 500 comprises just over 500 miles of the unique, jaw-dropping natural scenery that the Scottish Highlands are so famous for.
You’ll find Migdale Heights just 15 minutes away from the main North Coast 500 route; two ultra-luxurious cabins with five-star facilities, exquisitely elevated in a hillside with panoramic views of the hills and mountains beyond.
You can also savour peaceful, soul-stirring views towards Loch Migdale… or as night falls, soak in your cabin’s private hot tub and admire the softly twinkling stars. The vast, dark sky overhead is also a perfect canvas for the Northern Lights, which may make an appearance during your stay!
Named Thistle and Heather, each cabin sleeps two adults in perfect comfort. Ideal for a well-deserved romantic escape, there’s a soft-glowing woodburner to curl up by, and Egyptian cotton robes to wrap up in after an invigorating power shower (slippers are included, too!)
Mod-cons include a Smart TV and Echo speaker, as well as a sleek fitted kitchen gainfully equipped with a dishwasher and a coffee machine to charge your mornings. More little luxuries include butter-soft Egyptian cotton towels and sheets, Harris Tweed cushions, and indulgent toiletries from the Scottish Fine Soaps Company.
With everything you could possibly want so thoughtfully provided, you’re free to pop open your complimentary Champagne and enjoy a chilled glass out on your private, scenic deck.
(Don’t worry if those incredible rural views mean you’re reluctant to head back inside, since you’ve always got the option of enjoying an al fresco supper later on).

Otherwise, pack a tasty picnic and choose your favourite lochside spot – or how about paddleboarding on the shimmering water itself? If you’re feeling energetic, lace up your hiking boots and go Munro-bagging (a famous Scottish pastime of reaching the summits of the local mountains – or Munros).
Since you’re in Scotland, it almost goes without saying that there are historic castles to visit and golf courses to try, including the ‘Mini Gleneagles’ course at Bonar Bridge, and the world-renowned Royal Dornoch Golf Course. And of course, if you’re a fan of a wee dram there are plenty of distilleries in easy reach… all offering tours and tastings!

What the guests of Migdale Heights say
“Emma is an amazing host and the lodge was stunning to say the least! My husband and I visited Migdale Heights for our honeymoon/1 year wedding anniversary and had an amazing time! The location is perfect, surrounded by wildlife, Migdale Loch and framed by the rolling hills. The jacuzzi and wood burner are wonderful cosy additions for an autumn stay! Would highly recommend this beautiful lodge, 5* for cleanliness, location, facilities and comfort!”
“Wow! I couldn’t recommend this place anymore! Absolutely perfect in every way. We have just had the most relaxing and peaceful stay, the lodge its self was spotless and situated in an ideal place for great views and some peace and quiet. It had everything you could possibly need and all the extra touches made it extra special. The hot tub was a bonus to unwind after a long day of sight seeing and the wood burning just topped it off. The host Emma was very helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend, thank you for a lovely stay!”
“Our recent stay at Migdale Heights in the luxury cabin was nothing short of spectacular! The cabin itself was beautifully designed, boasting stylish and comfortable furniture that created a perfect ambiance for relaxation. Every detail seemed thoughtfully curated, contributing to a cozy yet luxurious feel. One of the standout features of our stay was the hot tub, which offered a perfect way to unwind while soaking in the breathtaking views. Whether under the stars at night or surrounded by the lush landscape during the day, the hot tub added a delightful element to our experience.”
