A grand Georgian mansion with its own indoor/outdoor swimming pool, set amongst vast, immaculate garden grounds on Scotland’s atmospheric Black Isle, for unforgettable large-group escapes.
  • Sleeps: 18
  • Bedrooms: 8
  • Bathrooms: 7
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights

A uniquely scenic location, the Black Isle isn’t an island but a peninsula; set in the mesmerising Scottish Highlands and bordered by the sea on three sides.

It’s here, close to the coastal village of Jemimaville, that you’ll discover the sweeping, elegant Poyntzfield House – a dream setting for special group celebrations that promise to inspire lasting memories.

Nestled amongst four glorious acres of mature gardens, the stately retreat dates all the way back to the 18th century. Two additional wings have since been crafted, to form a sociable U-shape that boasts a stunning Tuscan-style central courtyard… perfect for catch-up cocktails in the afternoon sunshine.

Sleeping up to 18 lucky guests, there are plenty of spaces for everyone to relax, unwind, and even challenge their competitive spirits, exactly as they wish. The lavish drawing room is home to a grand piano and a feature library wall, while the West Wing comes equipped with a games room that has a full-size antique snooker table.

The designated cook will adore whipping up celebratory feasts on the large gas range cooker, and there’s a magnificent dining room to savour them in, to befit the grandest of occasions. Just don’t forget the magnum of Champagne for toasting!

The jewel in the crown, however, has to be the private heated swimming pool. Boasting an inventive concertina roof that can be thrown open in the sun and closed in the rain, you can enjoy a sublime dip whatever the Scottish weather chooses to throw at you. There are plenty of poolside loungers, too – perfect for getting stuck into that book you never seem to find time for at home.

If you’re feeling particularly lordly, you could take a turn around those immaculate grounds, while the kids burn off some energy with a little help from the Wendy house, football goal-posts, and fun swings.
