Part of the North Northumberland Heritage Coast and set within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Beadnell Bay was voted the best beach in the North East by The Times in 2024.
You’ll find Marram Cottage dreamily set just behind dunes that lead straight onto that very golden-sand, horseshoe-shaped bay, which means you won’t have to travel far for a fun family day at the beach.
(The bay is so close, in fact, that it’ll feel like you’re staying in your very own beach hut… only with full self-contained facilities and ridiculously cosy beds!)
If you don’t feel like going out, you can still keep a close eye on those dunes from the comfort of the light-flooded sun room, complete with comfy chairs for morning coffee or curling up with a good book.
There’s also a sociable, soft-toned living space to unwind in after a long day of doing just whatever you feel like. Simply light the wood-burner to add a warm glow to your evening as you snuggle up in front of the Smart TV.
A well-equipped kitchen is on hand for feast-preparation – or rustling up a hearty picnic to bring to the beach! – along with a table and chairs for leisurely breakfasts peppered with carefree conversation.
When it’s time to turn in, you’ll find three charming bedrooms to choose from: a double, twin, and bunk room with adult-sized beds for complete flexibility. Along with high-quality bedding and plenty of storage space, each room is fitted with a blackout blind to aid lazy holiday lie-ins.

What the guests of Marram Cottage, Beadnell say
“Instant treasured family memory.”
The joy we felt when we arrived at Marram Cottage is an instant treasured family memory. The setting is better than any picture can describe. Watching your kids charge up the dunes and discover their own secret path to the beach is special. And these hosts have thought of everything: its immaculate, the space is used brilliantly, there is nothing missing, the flow is superb and the location ideal. It’s a very special place – highly recommend.
“Boys & Baby enjoyed the games/toys & beach”
What a fabulous stay! House equipped with everything you need & more. Boys and baby enjoyed the games, toys and beach things. Such a great location, enjoyed many a day on the beach, playing in the dunes, dune surfing and kiting. Thanks for the cot and high-chair and plenty of plastics for the kids! Perfect! Favourite places, Cragside and Dunstanburgh Castle for a beautiful long walk. We hope to return again soon!
“Spotlessly clean, well equipped, beautiful”
Wonderful week here at Marram Cottage. The accommodation couldn’t be faulted. Well equipped with everything you might need, clean and beautifully done. A week was not long enough to spend in such a beautiful place! We highly recommend the walk to Low Newton for lunch at the Ship Inn, coasteering with the local water-sports company and fish and chips from Neptune’s in Seahouses. Thank you so much for sharing this very special place with others, we have no doubt we will be back very soon.
