If you’ve been craving a peaceful escape to somewhere full of natural magic, look no further.  At Forest Windmill, pure beauty and blessed tranquillity are in abundance.

Splendidly isolated from the rest of the world, yet with Portugal’s sweeping Silver Coast beaches mere minutes away, the renovated 19th century mill is elevated on a forest hill in Nazaré, with the most spectacular over-the-treetops scenery.

Boasting three cosily-furnished storeys, the rustic windmill sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms.  All the holiday facilities you could ask for are here, with a few luxuries – such as a sleek Nespresso machine – thrown in for good measure.

You’ll also have a glorious outdoor space to help you relax on lazy summer afternoons (perhaps with a chilled bottle of local wine for company!)  Fire up the barbecue as the sun sinks over the trees, to a gentle soundtrack wildlife and rustling leaves… pure bliss.

If the weather is a little cooler, retreat to the stove-backed dining table for a hearty, home-cooked feast.  Chat with your loved ones awhile, then head up the spiral staircase to your chosen bedroom.  

You’ll find the master room right at the top, with a soaring arched ceiling and soothing rural views that lead as far as the eye can see.  Perfect for a lazy lie-in, before exploring the many beautiful and diverse beaches nearby… or simply doing nothing at all.
