Whether you’re part of a family, a couple or a small group in need of some precious relaxation time out of life, you’re guaranteed the warmest of welcomes at O Homem Verde – known in English as ‘The Green Man’.

Owned by a friendly couple who are passionate about the benefits of living amongst nature, O Homem Verde was lovingly created as a refreshing alternative to bland hotel rooms. The simple aim is to provide a comfortable and calming experience for absolutely everybody to appreciate and enjoy, and that’s exactly what you’ll find here when you arrive.

Discover O Homem Verde situated high in central Portugal’s Serra do Espinhal mountain range, full of captivating forest beauty yet just 7km from the nearest village.  Your scene is immediately set for plenty of fresh adventure, with the site’s soothing ‘off the beaten track’ setting teeming with wildlife, and featuring some beautiful river beaches and waterfalls in the surrounding hills.

Choose your dwelling from two captivating yurts, an authentic Moorish tent and an attic room that’s ripe for creative inspiration, all with downy bedding and soft towels included, and shared eco-friendly facilities that allow your reconnection with nature to continue (think “loos with a view”, and covered safari-style showers that allow you to gaze over the forest in perfect privacy!)

Watch the stars appearing in the night sky from the comfort of your chosen yurt, both decorated in ‘woodland chic’ style and featuring toasty heating alongside cosy beds, cooking facilities, rustic furniture and a south-facing deck. Eastern Yurt sleeps up to six, while the slightly smaller Green Man Yurt is suitable for up to four people.

The Moorish tent is ideal for those long, lazy summer days! Cosily sleeping up to four and built on its own terrace, you’ll find plenty of bedding, soft solar lighting and comfy cushions and rugs to inspire a more natural camping experience.

Meanwhile, the ensuite Attic Room is ideal for would-be writers, artists and daydreamers alike! Complete with a picture window that allows breathtaking views across the valley, the room is flooded with natural daylight and includes a comfy double bed, a sofa bed, and a woodburning stove for winter stays.
