Step inside a classic mystery novel, in a characterful double decker bus set on the grounds of a North Devon country house.
  • Sleeps: 5
  • Bedrooms: 2
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights

Infused with all the elegance of Agatha Christie’s classic novels, Bertrams, recently featured on BBC’s ‘Gone Fishing’, is located on the lush green grounds of Fosfelle Country House, a mere stone’s throw from the spectacular North Devon coast.

An original London double decker bus, Bertrams is comfortably styled in authentic 1950s design, imbued with a cosy literary feel.  Step inside to discover plenty of lovingly hand-picked accessories that will take you blissfully back in time, complete with a ready-made mystery to solve! If you’re a budding Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot, simply guess the thirteen Agatha Christie book titles from the clever clues dotted around the bus.

Meanwhile, simply watch the natural world go by from the characterful comfort of Bertrams, which sleeps up to five people.   Discover a wonderfully roomy living area on the upper deck, featuring a library full of Agatha Christie classics.  You’ll also find a working vinyl record player and a 1950’s radio, along with a squishy sofa and a TV.

Enjoy fresh green views from the kitchen and dining area, also located on the upper deck, and equipped with everything you need to whip up a family feast (in fact, why not try baking a loaf of Giant’s Bread?)

There’s a double bedroom nestled at the back of the bus, with the master double and a full-sized single day bed situated downstairs – complete with a Curtain for privacy, of course.

You’ll find the shower and WC room downstairs too, along with comfy seating and a bar area.  Chat with your loved ones to your heart’s content….just try not to set the Cat Among the Pigeons!

If you prefer al fresco catch-ups, you can enjoy the privacy of your very own garden, complete with furniture.  Or perhaps while away some time by strolling through the grounds, where you’ll meet some friendly, free-roaming alpacas.  If you’re an animal lover, why not go and say hello to the resident pygmy goats, miniature donkeys and rare-breed chickens, too?
