Secluded on a working family farm in Powys, the idyllic green views you’ll savour from The Warren stretch out for what feels like forever, towards rolling hills and trees filled with birds.

Friendly owners Tom and Amy designed and built their luxurious farm retreats themselves (there are two others, The Nest and The Burrow, all privately spaced from each-other), with a view to making each one a heavenly hideaway in nature.

Their largest retreat, The Warren sleeps up to seven guests, so you can bring the whole family along to enjoy what’s sure to be the most relaxing and beautiful break you’ll ever take.

Boasting an earth roof that blends into the lush green landscape, an enormous, gleaming glass front means the indulgent living space is bathed in natural light throughout the day.

Here, butter-soft, cushion-covered sofas face the windows (though don’t worry, there’s a TV for evening entertainment) and the kids are sure to squabble over who gets to claim the comfy swinging basket chair.

Though when it’s sunny, why not lounge outside instead? Not only will you find comfy seating out on the patio, but there’s a bubbling spa tub and a wild shower, too – oh, and a toasty firepit, essential for welcoming the sunset in scenic style.

Back inside, you’ll find an extremely well-equipped kitchen that’s ideal for whipping up feast-worthy suppers, perhaps with the occasional curious sheep peeking in from time to time!

The enormous wet-room-style bathroom, meanwhile, is a thing of wonder. So much so, that you may start praying for the odd rainy day, just so you can fill the huge round bath with bubbles and relax to raindrops trickling down the glass doors.

Later on, choose from three stylish double bedrooms. Two face the hills for amazing morning views, while the third features an additional single bed – perfect for a small family.

After a sound night’s sleep, relax outside with your morning coffee… if you can get up early enough, the sunrises here are incredible. Watch the grazing sheep and the local wildlife, and then why not head out for an enchanting woodland walk?

Further afield lie the Elan Valley, with its magnificent dams and shimmering reservoirs, historic landmarks including Powis Castle, and even more opportunity to get up close and personal with nature. Feed the red kites at nearby Rhayader, or take the kids to Kington Owl Sanctuary, with its small breeds farm.

You’ll also find a friendly pub in walking distance, and plenty more award-winning options a short drive away.
