Seventies Studio Margate

A self-contained ‘time capsule' apartment covering the entire top floor of a townhouse in the heart of Margate, with fabulous views of Dreamland and the beach.
  • Sleeps: 2-3
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

A retro-styled penthouse apartment, Seventies Studio Margate looks as though it’s been plucked straight from the set of ‘Abigail’s Party’.

A riot of classic brown, cream, and orange tones, funky prints adorn the walls and kitchen tiles, while friendly owner Jessie Rose has seen to it that just about every accessory is authentically ‘70s.

(Well, maybe apart from the modern TV, microwave, and Wi-Fi!)

You’ll find the glorious ‘time capsule’ apartment covering the entire top floor in Jessie Rose’s central Margate townhouse, just a stone’s throw from the beach, and iconic attractions that include Dreamland and the Turner Contemporary.

You’ll need to pass through the house to access the apartment, perhaps saying hello to Jessie Rose’s adorable poodle, Rosa, on your way! But once you’re in, it’s all yours.

Fully self-contained, there’s a funky kitchenette with everything you’ll need to rustle up drinks and snacks (Babycham with cheese-and-pineapple sticks, anyone?) There’s also a private bathroom – cream-and-orange-tiled, of course – with both a shower, and a baby-blue corner bath.

Ideal for a couple, there’s a comfy double bed to curl up in at the end of an exhausting day exploring Margate, plus a sofa bed that can accommodate an extra guest if needed.

What the guests of Seventies Studio Margate say

“Absolutely gorgeous studio, looks exactly like the pictures! All the furniture, crockery, and decor are from the 70s and in impeccable condition. It’s like a gorgeous little time capsule. The location couldn’t possibly be better: two minutes from the station, two minutes from the beach, close to every restaurant and bar, and only 5 minutes from Turner Contemporary. Jessie Rose was a perfect host: I felt like I had 100% privacy, but she would always say hello and have a little chat whenever I left the house or came back. She is extremely friendly and personable and just a pleasure to have around! Her dog Rosa is the most well behaved, you won’t even know she’s there unless you ask to pet her, which I totally recommend because she is so soft and adorable. I would 100% recommend this stay and I will definitely be coming back myself! I also especially recommend Jessie Rose and her place for all LGBTQ+ people like myself, as I felt comfortable and accepted the entire time.”

“We had the most wonderful stay at Jessie’s! She has paid so much attention to detail in making up this dreamy 70s studio (looks just like on the photos – in fact, even better!) and we spent a very comfortable few days there. The location couldn’t be better, and you can see both Dreamland and the beach (and the beautiful sunsets!) from the windows. Jessie is also a wonderful host – right from the moment we booked, her communication was great, really helpful… and she is even lovelier in person! We consider Jessie a friend now! 🙂 We had a brilliant holiday in Margate and will definitely return to stay at Jessie’s awesome 70s pad! Thank you for the hospitality!”

“We had the best stay in the 70s studio! Its even better in person, with the most gorgeous sea view in an ideal location to explore Margate old town, the coast and lovely beaches. Jessie’s place is perfect for a couple, with everything you need for a comfortable stay and thoughtful touches. It felt like a private space but Jessie was on hand if needed. This is a truly special place that we wholly recommend. Thanks Jessie! We can’t wait to stay again!”
