Rocket Lodge
England / Nr Uppingham, Rutland
Full description
A utterly unique, bespoke-crafted retreat with its very own island, wildlife pond, and a wood-fired hot tub for stargazing, secluded on a ‘secret' woodland site in the heart of rural Rutland.
Completely and utterly unique, the bespoke-crafted Rocket Lodge promises an out-of-this-world stay for up to six guests, deep in the rural heart of Rutland.
(Nestled on a 20-acre woodland site known as A Little Bit of Rough, you won't discover your exact location until you've booked, as the friendly owners prefer to keep their private site a beautiful ‘secret' between themselves and their guests).
Surrounded by over 5,000 diverse, whispering native trees and shrubs, there's plenty of wide open space to explore, with wondrous views that welcome you right back into the comforting arms of nature.
Lovingly hand-built from an intriguing, never-tried-before combination of rescued silos and shepherd's huts, The Rocket Lodge is rich in luxurious detail, from reclaimed wood panelling and unique artwork to butter-soft furnishings and sleek, high-end appliances.
Contemporary bioethanol stoves hang from the ceilings, while the final silo is home to an ultra-indulgent, one-of-a-kind bathing room. Featuring reclaimed oak church doors, an oversized mirror ball, and a huge, gleaming copper bathtub to sink into, you'll never want to leave.
Meanwhile, glazed links join each silo and shepherd's hut together, for a wonderful feeling of connection... both with the Lodge itself, and the natureful surroundings outside. Set within its very own private grounds on the site, you'll also have your very own wildlife pond and island, to make you feel like a visiting celebrity!
A gorgeous wood-fired hot tub will help you make the most of stargazing in that dark, clear night sky, while the pizza oven and barbecue are ideal for welcoming the awe-inspiring sunset, over a delicious al fresco supper on the elevated south-facing deck.
(Prefer whipping up feasts inside? There's a fully-fitted kitchen housed in one of the silos, full of electrical appliances).
Three elegant shepherd's-hut bedrooms will be waiting when it's time to turn in; two doubles and one twin. Each hut boasts French doors that open out onto the private gravelled area... an ideal spot for that first coffee of the day.
What to do with the rest of it is completely up to you. Characterful Rutland enjoys a unique position in the fresh heart of England, so you'll be surrounded by beautiful rural walks and traditional English towns and villages galore.
Why not head into Uppingham, a historic market town just 10 minutes away, or visit Rutland Water to immerse yourselves in the Great Outdoors, from wild swimming and watersports to golfing and high ropes adventure?
Wear yourselves joyfully out, safe in the knowledge that come sunset, you'll have your own slice of private paradise to revel in when you re-board your Rocket Lodge.
Things to note
Regrettably, pets cannot be permitted, so as not to disturb the abundant local wildlife.
