Hollym Park Glamping
England / Withernsea, East Riding of Yorkshire
Full description
A quirky range of accommodation, set on a family-run camping and glamping site in the heart of East Riding of Yorkshire countryside.
The exceptionally scenic Hollym Holiday Park is a friendly, family-run site located in a peaceful East Riding of Yorkshire village. With plenty of deluxe facilities and unusual places to rest your heads (not to mention the seaside resort of Withernsea temptingly nearby), you'll find the perfect antidote to your stressful everyday life is right here.
For starters, why not hop aboard Daisy Decker, a vibrant double-decker bus that's all set for a family holiday with a difference!
Equipped with generous facilities and two cosy bedrooms, everybody will feel ridiculously relaxed. With the original bus seats (and driver's wheel) in tact, fun and adventure is all but guaranteed.
An ideal romantic retreat for two, Bunnies Burrow Shepherd's Hut is lovingly custom-built and enclosed within its very own south-facing garden. Overlooking the wide open fields, this is a wonderful spot for sunrise watching and stargazing alike!
Step inside this cosy, charmingly decorated hideaway to discover a well-equipped kitchen, a seating area with a handy sliding table, and a comfy sleeping area complete with TV and a selection of DVDs. Of course, summer means lazy alfresco dining, so you'll find a decking area with its bistro table primed for you to capture the late afternoon sunshine.
Meanwhile, Puddleduck's Pod is ideal if you enjoy all the sights, sounds and smells of the Great Outdoors, but you'd rather not have to wrestle with a tent to experience it! Ideal for two adults and a small child, inside you'll find a readymade double bed on arrival with a slide out single bed. Then you can settle down and get cosy inside this insulated ‘wooden tent' with its distinct country den-like feel.
Relax outside on the decking area, featuring its own brick-built barbecue for sizzling suppers after a hard day's sunbathing with a good book!
If you prefer a more traditional camping break, the site also includes generous pitches for caravans and motor homes, along with a Garden Lodge. Wherever you choose to stay, you'll find a wealth of pristine facilities nearby, from piping hot showers to communal kitchen facilities. There's also a children's adventure play area, for those times when the kids need a little tiring out before bed.
Convenient to the last, a five minute walk will take you straight into the local village, complete with its historic church and a friendly pub.
If eating ice cream on the beach is more your style, why not pack a picnic and head for Withernsea for the day? You'll find plenty to do here, from visiting the Lighthouse Museum to strolling along the promenade (‘Kiss Me Quick' hat optional).
Slightly further afield is Hornsea, a traditional seaside town including a Freeport shopping outlet and a wild bird sanctuary, while history lovers will enjoy touring RAF Holmpton, an underground bunker that was operational during the Cold War. Fort Paull, an original Napoleonic fortress dating back to the 16th century, also makes for a fascinating visit.
With something for everyone to be found at Hollym Park Glamping, and with so much fresh air and green countryside to enjoy, we recommend booking your scenic spot good and quick!
