Bursting with history and directly nestled on the Dungeness RSPB Nature Reserve, you can expect a stay less ordinary from your break at Channel View.
Once an abandoned shack surrounding a Victorian railway carriage, the exquisitely-crafted retreat is now an idyllic and contemporary sanctuary for up to four people, to relax among some of Kent’s most wild and wondrous natural scenery.
Here you can immerse yourselves completely in panoramic sea-and-shingle views from the enormous picture windows. Those magnificent views stretch blissfully out for miles, taking in the vast sweep of the reserve and the beautiful lighthouse (in fact, we dare you to tear yourselves away from those windows!). There’s a private shingle garden to chat in, too, against a soothing soundtrack of nature.
Meanwhile, cooking and dining is a genuine pleasure in the transformed railway carriage – the home’s unique central feature. The master bedroom boasts a cosy king-sized bed, with a second king-sized day bed in the open-plan living area.
After a long day exploring the local area, all that’s left to do is prepare an evening tipple and huddle round the wood-burning stove, as the sun sets over the mesmeric horizon. Once thing’s for certain: with a stay this scenic, you won’t want to forget your camera!
