Recently featured on BBC’s ‘Gone Fishing’, Water Lily Lodge is a stunning creation by the Browning Bros. who, between them, have created a series of sensational dwellings on the family’s organic farm, just 6 miles south-east from Colchester. And, in its private woodland location, the lodge comes with a level of seclusion and tranquillity that will leave you feeling at perfect ease, away from all of life’s hustle and bustle.
With accommodation for six lucky guests, Water Lily Lodge is ideal for families or groups of friends who want a sense of the outdoors without compromising on any comforts. On the outside, it’s exactly what the name suggests – a rustic, humble, wood-clad home. However, appearances can be deceiving, as inside, you’ll discover stylish, contemporary interiors, comfortable furniture, and all the mod-cons you need for a truly indulgent stay.
The lodge sits in an idyllic spot – surrounded by trees and perched right on the edge of one of Teybrook Farm’s large, peaceful lakes. In fact, you couldn’t get much closer to the water; with your own wood fired hot tub and private deck extending over the lake, enjoy warm summer evenings relaxing back with a glass of something chilled in the hot tub, as swans glide past just metres away.
You’ll soon see that the lodge has been designed to bring those waterside views inside too. Floor-to-ceiling windows and patio doors leading from the large, modern living area to the deck mean you can relax back indoors, with the stillness of the lake as your backdrop. You’ll also find a comfy sofa in here, as well as a TV and DVD player for entertainment.
The adjacent kitchen and dining area is fully equipped with everything you’ll need for easy self-catering, including an electric oven, hob and fridge-freezer. Enjoy your meals at the contemporary dining table for six, and make light work of the clearing up afterwards, thanks to the handy dishwasher!
There are three luxurious bedrooms at the lodge – each one a peaceful haven to leave each guest utterly rested and relaxed. Pick from the king-size bedroom or twin room on the ground floor, or rest your head in the second twin bedroom, found on the lodge’s mezzanine floor.
Freshen up in the shower room, where you’ll find a large corner shower and toilet. There’s even a useful washing machine in here – ideal if you get a little muddy as you explore the surrounding woods.Keep reading
