Browning Bros Teybrook Orchard
Take your pick of unforgettable glamping in the heavenly Teybrook Orchard, tucked away in rural North Essex.
This gorgeous glamping spot, nestled between an apple orchard and sprawling woodland on the owners' family farm, is home to a variety of very special dwellings - perfect for anyone from a single glamper to a whole family.
Every dwelling in Teybrook Orchard has been specially selected, sited and furnished by the Browning Bros., whose love of den-building has stayed with them since childhood. In addition to the lovingly restored Grain Silo and Shepherd's Hut, you can also choose from a range of luxurious yurts and bell tents - each one delightfully named after characters from The Jungle Book or The Lion King for that extra sense of wild adventure!
The Grain Silo (sleeps 1-2)
This bijou bolthole is Teybrook Orchard's most romantic hideaway, set amongst a circle of trees at the end of a private path. As the name suggests, the Grain Silo used to store grain following the farm's August harvest, but has now been beautifully renovated for guests to enjoy. Circular in shape, painted a beautiful duck-egg blue, you'll discover every comfort inside, including a cosy double bed, drapes, throws, and electric lighting. There's even a skylight above, so drift off under twinkling stars for ultimate romance.
The Shepherd's Hut (sleeps 1-2)
Whisk yourself away to a Shepherd's Hut with history! Bought by the Browning Bros.' great-grandfather over 60 years ago, this wood-clad wonder on wheels has been painstakingly restored to offer a truly idyllic hideaway under an old oak tree, in the corner of the meadow. As well as a comfy double bed and soft blankets, there's also a woodburner to keep you beautifully toasty all night long.
The Yurts: Mowgli and Mufasa (each sleeps 1-4)
Add some Mongolian inspiration to your glamping experience in one of Teybrook Orchard's 18ft yurts, both handcrafted in Somerset. You'll find Mowgli right in the centre of the glamping site, while Mufasa is found at the far end - ideal for a little more privacy. Both are furnished with a proper double bed, yet also have space for two additional mattresses on the floor. With pretty linen, rugs, side tables and even fresh flowers, you can sleep under canvas without missing any of your home comforts. And remember to check out the night sky through your skylight above!
The Bell Tents: Bagheera, Baloo, Colonel Hathi, Shere Khan, Rafiki and Simba (each sleeps 4)
There's nothing more charming than a beautiful bell tent, and Teybrook Orchard's certainly don't disappoint. Each one is furnished to the same luxurious standards, complete with carpets, rugs, pillows, LED lighting and even a pretty tea-light chandelier above. All come with a real double bed and two comfy mattresses on the floor, so all you need to do is select your favourite pitch. Four of the tents offer privacy among the trees: Bagheera is tucked away in a wooded glade, Baloo offers a real woodland experience, Colonel Hathi is pitched among the trees, while Shere Khan can be found a little further along from here. If you like prime spots for sunshine and the facilities though, Rafiki and Simba are found in the middle of the meadow - perfect for soaking up the afternoon and evening sun (not a far cry from the African grasslands!).
Every dwelling comes with its own private firepit, BBQ grill and outdoor seating for making the most of this peaceful, rural setting. All you need to bring is your food, your drink and yourselves! There's also an outdoor kitchen for all glampers to share, with a further communal BBQ. The site benefits from three flushing loos and three showers with plenty of hot water, and if the great British weather isn't playing ball, enjoy some table tennis or table football in the undercover area. And if you're after something a little more luxurious, you can still enjoy beautiful Teybrook Farm with a stay in the lovely Log Cabin.
Beyond Teybrook Orchard, there's much to explore in the Colne Valley. Nearby Marks Tey has everything you need for basic essentials, including a butcher, the famous Food Company and even a couple of takeaways if you don't feel like campfire cooking. There are also a wealth of excellent restaurants and pubs in easy distance, and nearby attractions to suit every interest. From shopping in Colchester, to taking a ride back in time on the Colne Valley Steam Railway, to messing about on the water at Gosfield Lake Resort, Teybrook Orchard is the ideal base for it all.
So whether you're holidaying with your family, your loved one, or simply yourself, start your next adventure at Teybrook Orchard, for a little piece of glamping heaven and a whole host of very special memories.
