Historic and distinctive, the word “trullo” refers to a traditional Apulian stone dwelling with a conical roof. A sumptuous conversion of two such dwellings, Trullo Petrarolo is beautifully set on a vast estate, elevated over Puglia’s dreamy eastern coast.

Encompassing almost 150 acres of land, the scenery here is not only incredible but gloriously diverse: ranging from ancient olive groves and award-winning vineyards to wildflower meadows and shimmering panoramic seascapes.

Nestled in its own private valley, Trullo Petrarolo itself offers a magical blend of original features and modern elements, to make you feel instantly at home. Domed ceilings and charming alcoves nod to soothing times past, while downy beds and indulgent walk-in showers offer a true sense of luxury.

The larger trullo is home to the sociable living space, complete with an enormous sofa to snuggle on, and a well-equipped kitchenette for drinks and snacks. Just up the spiral staircase is a calming mezzanine space for reading or lounging – with a sofa that conveniently converts to a queen bed by evening.

There are two more sleeping spaces to choose from, with additional sofa beds on request to accommodate up to six guests in total. Ciliegeto (“cherry grove” in English) is the magnificent master suite, with a super-comfortable double bed, a warming fireplace, and an en-suite bathroom with an antique mirror.

But that’s not all! Ideal for morning coffee, you’ll also have your own private terrace and garden… and a superlative al fresco bathing area with a marble bathtub and shower.

Lunetta (“little moon”), meanwhile, is an elegant double bedroom with an entrance door formed from the original trullo. Huge windows overlook the main courtyard for peaceful morning views, and there’s a spacious walk-in shower to freshen up in.
