A former pub, the space has been imaginatively converted into a sleek retreat that’s worthy of the most lavish celebrations, with sociable spaces aplenty. Gather in the colourful open-plan lounge, with its cushion-festooned sofas and Smart TV, to get your holiday off to a showstopping start.
The original bar – complete with mosaic tiling! – has been transformed into a gleaming, well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances and a central island that’s perfect for prepping banquets of every description… to be savoured at the dining table over hearty, laughter-fuelled conversation all together.
(Indeed, with the dining table right next to the kitchen, the designated chef won’t have to miss out on the fun as they toil away!)
Claiming your favourite bedroom may take some time, since you’ll find each one individually decorated in boutique style, with feature wallpaper and a bespoke colour palette. For added convenience, the first and second-floor rooms can be configured as superkings or twins, while two rooms boast private en-suite facilities.
You’ll also find a WC and shower on the ground floor, while there’s a shared bathroom on each of the upper floors (translation: no cross-legged morning queues or arguments about who gets glammed-up first!)
While it’ll be supremely tempting to stay holed-up in your uber-stylish retreat all holiday long, it could be a shame to waste the close proximity to everything that makes York such a fabulous place to stay.
