Peaceful acres of horse-dotted Norfolk greenery may not be what you’d usually expect when gazing from the porthole window of a luxury boat.

Yet for those who cherish serene rural views (and are also prone to seasickness!), The Woodland Boat offers all the charm and elegance of a seafaring stay, set on dry land at its most beautiful.

Perfect for a romantic getaway, you’ll find the unique, lovingly-restored boat nestled amongst rolling countryside on a working stud farm, with delights that include a private al fresco hot tub to help you welcome the stars in style.

Better still, if you can’t bear to leave your best four-legged friend at home, no problem.  They’ll be more than welcome to stay, too.

You’ll be blissfully secluded here, so there’s ample opportunity to catch up on life and love with your favourite person in the world… whether you’re snuggled up with the wood-burner and Smart TV, or sipping a carefree glass of fizz out in that fresh country air.

Meanwhile, the boat’s thoughtful owner has seen to it that you’ll have everything you need, and much more besides.  Along with a ready supply of hot drinks, you’ll have fresh milk, orange juice, wine, crisps and biscuits – even fluffy bathrobes and Crocs for your trips to and from the hot tub.

If you’ve brought a good book with you, you’ll find two double hammocks primed between the trees… though don’t blame us if the country soundtrack is so relaxing that you keep dozing off!  There are plenty of woodland seating areas for you to discover, too.

More information

When it’s time for supper, you can cook up a storm aboard the boat, or fire up the gas barbecue for a side-helping of sunset.  Light the firepit (logs are provided free of charge!) for a round of marshmallow-toasting and storytelling under the stars, before a sound night’s sleep in the downy kingsize bed.

After morning coffee in the early sunshine, freshen up in the boat’s very own wet room and then, if you can muster up the energy, how about exploring the local area?

The historic market town of Hingham, surrounded by grand architecture and buzzing with independent shops, is a mere five-minute drive away.  Why not pitch up at the local coffee shop and watch the world go by over a well-deserved slice of cake?

The city of Norwich is slightly further afield for even more shopping and sightseeing, and there’s even a handy bus service that runs every half-hour if you’d rather go the whole tourist hog and watch the scenery trundle past.

However you decide to while away your time, you’ll yearn to be back at The Woodland Boat just in time to toast another glorious, soothing sunset together.

What the guests of The Woodland Boat say

“We stayed here for our “mini-moon” and it was absolutely perfect. Alice was so welcoming when we arrived (so were Gadget & Hooker – the dogs). Alice had even put a bottle of champagne in the fridge for us to celebrate getting married which was just lovely. The area is so quiet and peaceful which was just what we needed after months of planning the wedding! Chilling in the hot tub whilst reading our books and watching the birds and rabbits was just so peaceful. The boat itself had everything that we needed and we were able to cook a few meals in there and travel to Norwich for some nice restaurants which was only a short drive. Would definitely recommend and return!”

“Cannot recommend this place more! The boat has been beautifully restored and had everything you needed from kitchen utensils to torches and candles. It was so peaceful and at night you could see nothing but stars from the hot tub. The nearby horses were friendly companions for our stay too! We hope to visit again soon.”

“Alice and Charlie’s boat is above all expectations that you read on the website. The boat was of the highest standards and the plus is the hot tub. If you want a excellent relaxed, quiet break then this is the place to go. The hosts were fantastic.”
