Inside, the light-flooded, open-plan living space showcases shimmering lake views (there’s a Smart TV ready and waiting once the sun has set), while climate-controlled central heating means the background ambience will always be just right.

Perfect for whipping up romantic suppers, the kitchen comes equipped with everything you could possibly need, including an electric oven and hob… and that all-important holiday essential: a dishwasher!

Savour the fruits of your culinary labour in the laid-back dining area, along with a well-deserved bottle of wine. There’s also a firepit in the enclosed rear garden; ideal for toasted-marshmallow desserts under the summer stars.

Simply head for the mezzanine-style bedroom when it’s finally time to turn in. Here you’ll find a snuggly kingsize bed, a Smart TV… and of course, those incredible lake views to wake up to.

For starters, The Tunnel has its very own pontoon on the lake, for fishing or simply dipping your toes in on balmy afternoons!

You could also take a stroll through the countryside… since you’re so close to the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty it’s practically a must, particularly when your walk is finished off with a round or two in the friendly local pub.

Further afield await the historic market town of Banbury, with its plethora of independent shops, and Royal Leamington Spa, peppered with Regency architecture and wide, wondrous boulevards. Bicester is perfect for shopping, too; its charming cobbled streets lined with boutique and vintage treasures.

You could also head for Brackley and visit the romantic castle, before browsing the weekly market to stock up on essential holiday supplies. And for those missing the charms of city life, bustling Oxford is in easy reach.

However you decide to spend your romantic escape at The Tunnel, it’s bound to be a break that will linger long in your memory for some time to come.

Pets and children are not permitted. Unfortunately, although this is a single-storey retreat the path leading from the car park may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Electric vehicle charging is available on site.
