Striking and original, The Roondie is a lovingly-restored round horse mill that boasts enormous windows and an incredible domed ceiling, charmingly secluded on a friendly Fife smallholding.

You’ll only be half an hour away from the area’s famed coastal villages and windswept beaches, not to mention St. Andrews – otherwise known as the ‘Home of Golf’. There is also a fresh, tempting array of field and woodland walks to be taken right from the doorstep.

Yet once you’ve arrived, greeting the resident rare-breed sheep and ponies on your way, you’re sure to fall head-over-heels in love with your romantic retreat.

Deceptively roomy, the soft-toned, open-plan living space will fill your souls with delight; boasting a wonderful mix of original and modern features, elegantly accented by natural wooden beams and that spectacular ceiling.

The sleek, well-equipped kitchen features a chef-worthy central island and breakfast bar. Savour those home-cooked meals inside at the dining table, or head out to the soothing Mediterranean-style stone patio for supper and sundowners, safe in the knowledge that there’s an inviting wood-burner to help you unwind in front of the TV later on.

When it’s finally time to say goodbye to the day, you’ll discover your cosy double bedroom hidden behind a clever partition created from natural materials, looking for all the world as though it could have been part of the original stable.

An indulgent walk-in wet room completes the circular picture – an ideal space to freshen up after sound night’s sleep. Take your time over that hearty breakfast, though… you’ll need the fuel if you’re going to lace up your walking boots and explore the area!
