Rufflets is no ordinary retreat. Originally built in 1924 as a private St. Andrews home, the grand, turreted mansion became one of Scotland’s first – and finest – country house hotels.
Today’s guests can expect the wonderfully warm welcome Rufflets is known for, as well as ample opportunity to explore the hotel’s 10 acres of beautiful gardens, which have been carefully curated to savour, nourish, and heal.
The Woodland Suites are perfect for couples and families in search of an even greater connection with nature. Tucked away within the hotel’s leafy, tranquil grounds, each luxury shepherd’s hut boasts sumptuous delights that include a free-standing copper bath (outdoor in the family suites), a stargazing skylight, and a private, scenic sun deck.
Each Woodland Suite is also dog-friendly, with four-legged guests treated to their very own welcome pack – so your best friend will also get to enjoy a well-deserved break!
Perfect for romantic getaways, the couples’ suites each sleep two guests in a cosy double bed, while the family-sized suites include a second, convenient fold-away double. Whichever you choose, the glorious blend of rustic comfort and soothing design elements, including patterned wallpaper and butter-soft cushions, will feel like home.
Each suite is fully self-contained, with a shower room for freshening up and a kitchenette for relaxed meal preparation – though many guests can’t resist the hearty Scottish breakfast served in the hotel’s restaurant each morning!
Eager to learn more about the home-grown produce that guides the restaurant’s mouth-watering menus? You’re very welcome to take a tour of the fragrant kitchen garden with the Head Gardener, perhaps with a guided visit to the chicken coop and run. Oh, and if you’re feeling inspired to create your own vegetable patch after your stay, simply join a Gardening Masterclass and return home armed with all the right knowledge!
