Add beautiful views over the South Downs, a sustainable spa, plush lounges and a selection of indulgent restaurants, and you may be left with a distinct feeling that you’ve discovered actual holiday heaven.

Brand-new for 2024, The Reeds at South Lodge comprise six Lakeside Lodges and two Lakeside Spa Lodges for romantic couples, each one privately nestled on the edge of the South Lodge lake and completely surrounded by magical countryside.

Bespoke-crafted from sustainable materials, each luxurious lodge is designed to biophilic architectural methods that promise to connect you directly with the surrounding nature.

The result is dreamy double-height spaces that make the most of those incredible natural views, complete with a terrace to while away lazy afternoons with a glass of wine, or perhaps even take a sumptuous al fresco bath by sunset.

Perfect for small families and groups of friends, each Lakeside Lodge sleeps up to two adults and three children or four adults, with two ridiculously comfy bedrooms (one kingsize room downstairs and one zip-and-link double upstairs) and plenty of generous open-plan space to relax in.

Visiting as a couple? Take your pick from two Lakeside Spa Lodges, both complete with a private infrared halotherapy sauna to promote relaxation and wellbeing, and an opulent top-floor bedroom that showcases the most jaw-dropping views.

You’ll have full access to South Lodge’s spa facilities and amenities during your stay, with optional extras that include a hamper packed with mouth-watering produce, and wild swimming lessons with a certified instructor… so you can get up close and personal with that wonderful lake you’ve been gazing at.

And although basic kitchen facilities are provided in your lodge, we’re willing to bet you’ll want to spend the majority of your dining-time in one of the magnificent on-site restaurants.

From Michelin-starred taste experiences to innovative plant-based cuisine – try the delicious Wasted burger, crafted entirely from the pulp from that morning’s freshly-squeezed juices! – it’s all here.

It’s unlikely you’ll want to leave your new-found natural haven, though if you feel like exploring there’s plenty to see and do close by. Petworth House, Wakehurst Place, and even the famed Brighton Pavilion are all in easy reach, along with the South Downs National Park for those craving even more nature.

Things to note

Minimum two-night stay on Saturdays. A selection of luxury hampers can be ordered for your stay, please ask for details. Guests must not swim in the lake unless part of a wild swimming session with a certified instructor.
