Secluded in magical private woodland surrounded by wide open fields, the lovingly handcrafted wooden lodge also features an al fresco hot tub that’s perfect for welcoming the sunset and stars, glass of bubbles in hand.

Inside awaits a comforting open-plan space for a romantic couple and their well-behaved dog, filled with daylight through sliding glass doors, and welcome warmth from the central wood-burning stove.

The TV comes equipped with Netflix, while the wood-crafted kitchen is packed with modern appliances, including an electric oven, an induction hob, and a dishwasher, that make whipping up romantic suppers (and cleaning up afterwards!) a breeze.

Meanwhile, if the weather stops you from stepping outside to the hot tub deck, don’t worry! The living area is home to a gleaming, double-ended copper bathtub on its own privacy-assured platform, to make your evening dip feel blissfully indulgent whether inside or out.

There’s a gorgeous walk-in shower, too – ideal for freshening up after long country walks – and a superking bed to curl up in as day completes its transformation into star-sprinkled night.

With skylights positioned above the bed, you can savour that soothing night-time scenery just before the gentle owls’ hoots ease you into a sound, snuggly sleep.

Take in the morning sunshine with coffee out on your furnished deck, accompanied by birdsong and fresh green views as far as the eye can see (if you can make it outside early enough, the sunrises are truly incredible here).

What to do now? Well, you could always stay put and get lost in the charms of a good book, or lace up your walking boots and test them out on one of the many trails that start straight from the doorstep… including the incredibly scenic Fife Pilgrim’s Way.

Head into Ceres, just under five miles away, to stock up on foodie supplies; though if you don’t feel like cooking at all, the Peat Inn, a Michelin-starred restaurant, is within a three-mile drive.

Or how about heading to nearby St. Andrews, the celebrated ‘Home of Golf’, with its world-famous courses and sweeping sandy beaches? Visit the ruins of the 13th century castle, dramatically set on the cliff tops, for an outrageously romantic way to while away some ‘me-and-you’ time.
