More information

A large and beautiful space with a mesmerising stained-glass window, the dreamy atrium is a wonderful way to while away some time… perhaps curled up with a good book on a rainy afternoon, or indulging in tea and cake under the glass ceiling.

Rather get out and explore? Take an invigorating walk along the Norfolk Coast Path, or pack a tasty picnic and roll out your towel on the sandy beach. If you’re a keen surfer, Cromer is a great place to catch some waves, and there’s even a surf school for keen first-timers (so no excuses).

You could also swim or snorkel out to ‘Britain’s Great Barrier Reef’; otherwise known as the Cromer Shoal Chalk Bed, which was formed all the way back in the Mesozoic era and is part of the Deep History Coast Discovery Trail.

There’s plenty more history and creativity to discover here, too – including Banksy’s famous Great British Spraycation artwork and Cromer Pier. Home to both a lifeboat station and a Victorian theatre, you can still catch a traditional end-of-the-pier variety show at certain times of the year!

End your day out with a slap up fish-and-chip supper, before making your way back to The Old Sunday School and Vestry for cosy evensong.

Things to note

One well-behaved dog is permitted to stay for an additional fee. There is no Wi-Fi at this retreat but excellent mobile data connection. The chapel access is daytime only, with strictly no access to the upper mezzanine area.
