A luxurious, award-winning cottage with an outdoor copper bath and sublime Amber Valley views, lovingly renovated from a 19th-century Grade II-listed grain store in rural Derbyshire.
  • Sleeps: 4
  • Bedrooms: 3
  • Bathrooms: 3
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

The Old Granary is an ideal base from which to explore Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park… that is, if you can bear to leave.

Now a luxurious holiday cottage for up to four guests (and two four-legged friends), the former grain store is a Grade II-listed building that dates back to the 19th century. Owners Amanda and Martin completed the sumptuous renovation themselves, with a five-star Gold Award from VisitEngland to show for their labour of love.

You’ll feel charmed and soothed as you arrive at the rose-clad cottage; bordered by thriving, cared-for gardens and rolling countryside views to make you pause in wonder.

Meanwhile, the impeccably stylish ‘country-chic’ interiors have been featured in many publications, including Country Homes and Interiors and Period Living, and are wonderfully rich in both comfort and convenience.

Unwind in the soft-toned, open-plan living room, with its 50” LCD Smart TV and iPod dock for cosy evenings in, warmed by the electric stove and toasty heated flooring. There’s a well-equipped, hand-built dining kitchen for laid-back mealtimes, though on summer evenings you might prefer relaxing in the idyllic, wildlife-steeped outdoor space, instead.

Here awaits furniture for dining and lounging in the sunshine, along with a gleaming copper-and-nickel bathtub, a barbecue for sizzling suppers by breath-taking sunset, and a fire pit area for star-studded evenings of storytelling. Surrounded by dreamy gardens, the lawn blends seamlessly into the pristine countryside where far-reaching views span four counties, for a feeling of gazing out to infinite rural paradise.

When you’re finally ready for bed, you’ll have three elegant kingsize bedrooms to choose from. The master boasts an en-suite shower room, along with a wall-mounted Smart TV for when you’re not savouring countryside views from double-aspect windows.
