A quintessentially English break awaits, in a heavenly holiday home exquisitely set in Suffolk's Constable country.

  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

The Old Chapel Annexe is in a divine location on the Essex and Suffolk border, in the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Part of what was once Nayland’s United Reformed Church, the romantic accommodation for two has been beautifully renovated, with plenty of reminders as to its fascinating past.

The large, arched chapel windows and original doors still remain, along with grand columns, intricate carpentry work, and two lovingly restored box pews for you to marvel at as you explore.

The ground floor is home to a bright open-plan living area, with comfy seating and a Smart TV (there’s also a sofa bed, if you feel like sharing your break with friends). You’ll find a well-equipped kitchen here too, complete with modern essentials including a dishwasher and a microwave, and a dedicated, light-filled dining area.

There’s a handy shower room downstairs too – ideal for freshening up after exploring the local area.

Head up to the first floor, to be greeted by an elegant bedroom with zip and link beds that can be made into a superking or twins.  You’ll smile when you see the clever creativity that’s gone into the two box pews; one is a dressing area, and the other is a quirky ‘loo in a pew’!

Though your bed is positioned just below a huge, awe-inspiring window, blackout blinds will ensure you get a sound night’s sleep.
