The proud winner of a Gold Award from Visit England, The Lavender Barn is a seriously special setting for luxurious group breaks of every description.

Nestled on the edge of Halse, a chocolate-box Somerset village, the barn was originally built over 200 years ago. Restored to an extremely high standard, with exposed red stone and oak flooring throughout, today you’ll find it packed with plenty of modern-day luxuries.

You’ll certainly discover a little something for everyone here. For example, there’s a games room for competitive spirits, a heated indoor swimming pool for water babies, and an outdoor hot tub for sunset-watchers!

Sleeping up to twelve guests, and two well-behaved dogs, there are six indulgent en-suite bedrooms to choose from. As versatile as your personal guest list, each room can be made up as a superking or twin singles, whichever you prefer. If you’re bringing the kids along, travel cots and toddler-ready beds can even be comfortably made up, all ready for their arrival.

After claiming your favourite sleeping space, gather everyone together for “first day of holiday” drinks in the beautiful lounge area, with its huge, scenery-showcasing windows, and plenty of squishy seating for everyone. And if you tire of talking to each-other, you can always switch on the plasma TV instead!

The Shaker-style kitchen is supremely well-equipped, and a joy to cook in for talented chefs and culinary novices alike. There’s also a huge dining table, with comfy chairs, to break bread and drink wine at for as long as everybody likes.

Prefer dining al fresco? There’s a second table and chairs out on the sheltered patio, along with the aforementioned hot tub…just add a bottle or two of bubbles, and that’s your evening perfectly sorted!

What the guests of The Lavender Barn say

“WOW!! We have enjoyed a wonderful week at Lavender Barn – three generations of our Family and Barny the Cockapoo. Lavender Barn was absolutely everything we hoped for – lots to do for the children, sensational bedrooms and plenty of luxurious living spaces.  The icing on the cake was the private indoor pool! We have booked again for next year!”

“I wasn’t looking forward to my 40th but spending it in this amazing barn conversion in a stunning area ( Somerset is fabulous) was just the best!  Kate and Steve went out of their way to make our special weekend everything we wanted. The barn was spotless and so comfy – the best bed we have ever slept in! We have a great walk over Exmoor with the best Sunday lunch at a local pub – thank you!”

“We are three families that holiday together every year to celebrate the New Year with children ranging in age from a baby to 15. As well as a dog! Lavender Barn is without doubt the best house we have stayed in. Kate and Steve and the whole Lavender Hill team have thought of everything!  From a stunning Christmas tree to logs for the wood burner, the best information file we have ever come across and little goodies for the children and the dog. The barn was warm, cosy and the holiday was so special.”
